PICS of Mission Space Queue changes - taken May 19 EMH EPCOT

Wow! I was there at Epcot today (Friday), but I didn't realize today was the first day of this! Maybe I'll try out the less intense version - the full-intense version doesn't leave me feeling too good afterwards!

Thanks very interesting... so now i wonder if I can handle the less intense wimpy ride? Hope someone out there can explain the difference. I can't handle the darn Astro ride, makes me sick :(

My DS is excited about this, he said "oh yeah, I am riding the intense version, no lines for me!" :cool1: Thanks for sharing the photos.

The lines for the mild version should not be so long after a few months when the novelty has worn off.

THe difference: You don't feel pushed against the back of your seat as much.

This "gravity effect" is accomplished by spinning. It is as if everyone is sitting facing the center of a large circle, similar to the Round Up (if you remember that amusiement ride). In Mission Space you cannot see the spinning from inside the cars, you only feel the effect.

NO NO NO NO NO!

The more people go to the less intense version the more it seals the doom of the real version of the ride.

Your contributing to the death of what misson space is all about!

WHOO HOO No waits for those of us who go on the intense version! :woohoo:

I may go on this now, but still not sure. I am such a CHICKEN. I did't handle Soarin' well. My kids, however, are looking forward to it.

I hope they don't end up doing away with the intense version. Hopefully the lite version is full because everyone wants to sample the new version and it will all balance back out. It doesn't make much sense that all those people wouldn't have liked the intense version when just on Thursday there was a 50 minute wait full of people who were riding over and over on the intense version....everyone absolutely LOVED it as we rode it twice in a row.

I only hope things return back to an even balance once the newness of the MS Lite wears down...I don't want to see the intense version disappear and would be very highly upset if it did.

I actually want a more intense option as well...since I think the spinning version now is quite tame...and I would never ride the lite version because it would be downright boring. All I ask is they keep BOTH versions so we have a choice, because some of us do love the spinning version and based on the wait times Thursday, I can't imagine THAT many people were riding multiple times on something they hated. Hopefully its just everyone wanting to sample the lite version since its new.

So DISNEY...PLEASE DON'T DO AWAY WITH THE ORIGINAL...PPPLLLLLEEEEASE.

Thanks for posting the link to the pictures. I will have to give the less intense version a try in September. My husband likes the the regular version but I did the regular version twice and decided that was enough for me.

I hope the reason the less intense version was so full was because people were curious about how it changed.

If the lines get too short for the real version and they end up converting it all over then I no longer have any reason to ride it. :/

ita except i probably would ride it...it just will be under protest ;) someone said the wimp side still moves up and down or side to side or something
( sounded like star tours to me)just doesn't spin.

Eagerly awaiting someone to post re: the less intense version. It's the only way wimp me will get on M:S! :sunny:

IIRC, they have four centerfuges, so they should always be able to keep one spinning for the intense version. I also wonder how long it takes to "move" one centerfuge from intense to wimpy or vice versa - if it is only a few minutes, the M:S could be responsive to guest demands. "Hey, the 'intense' line is getting quite long, Sue - let's move 'Fuge #3 to intense."

Does anyone know how they will be handling FASTPASS for the new M:S queue? Will there be a separate FP for the less intense version?

I absolutely LOVE MS!!!!!!! I really hope they don't get rid of the intense version! It's one of my favorites at WDW......

Now, that being said, I hate TOT.....that freefall (only faster than the speed of gravity) makes me sick

I love MS but will probably try MS Lite just to see how it's different.

This change will probably be the point that convinces me to ride it. Consider me a full-fledged wimp who has no desire to get sick and ruin my day :rotfl:

I never had been motion/sea sick until last weekend! I don't want a repeat of getting sick over the side of a boat :)

The round and round and round rides always make me a little queasy. I just could never risk feeling 'down' for any length of time at Disney.
Disney is made for families. My kids are 6 and 10. Long live the wimpy version!
