September 21. Do you remember, I was thinking about us heading to Florida while you guys were there so I could meet you?

Have a wonderful time. You deserve it.

I'm lucky I remember my name today. :rotfl2:

I will toast to you, my special friend, on your birthday.

This is for both of you, taken on August 22nd. Sam picked out the balloon (pink of course!! - when it should have been blue) and then I decided it probably didn't matter to you both. The second pic is the little girl that was thrilled to pieces with the balloon. I briefly told the parents that it was in memory of 2 very special people in my 2 friends lives.

Needless to say, I was teary for you both, they were very gracious and appreciated being able to share in your story.

Janet, I now have tears in my eyes. What a sweet and wonderful thing you did for us. Thank you, dear friend.

You've never heard of yard ape? lol Some might be offended by it, but it's a term of endearment here. :)

I just spoke to Cass about the incident. She told the teacher and vice principal that she has no appetite at lunch because of her medication. I asked her what they said, and she told me that they just said, okay and she went back to her classroom. Then, I guess they called me. This is not the first time this has happened. I've had so many meetings with the school and the guidance counselor about my daughter and they KNOW about her issues etc. At this point, I can't even be civil about it. On top of that, she is a picky eater. I can't force her to eat raw veggies. She hates them. Fruit is a hit or miss. The school is nut free, so that limits us even more. I'll gladly pack her full lunches and when they come home rotten, I'll send them the bill to reimburse me. Last year, hot lunch for the week (three days) was $15 most weeks. She never ate any of it. Did the teacher inform me? Nope. My sister is a teacher there and she told me about it. She said over half of the kids don't eat their hot lunch. They have 20 minutes to scarf down their lunch and then they are shipped outside to play. Does that make any sense at all? So many parents have complained. I give up. I'm glad that you "get it". Some truly don't and that makes my head spin.

Sam doesn't have any issues, but I can understand your frustration. It is unbelievable that the nurses office/cafeteria staff can't work together on this. There must be other children with different needs for lunch that are met. It is unexcusable that this behavior continues. Go in there and kick them in the butt, AND when you have their attention, do show them the receipt for the spoiled lunches and demand payment-- that just might shut them up and get them to stop. [love the yard ape reference!!]

You are totally welcome, my friend!!

In a way, it was a little hard for me. I'm an emotional person, and I also thought about my Dad (he died 3 days before Sam's 3rd birthday). He was a fun loving person, had a very outgoing personality and loved to meet people.

I was very happy to have been in the World to honor both your Dad and Toby on that day (as Christine says, their "angel" day).

Have a wonderful time in Disney, my friend. Here's to safe travels, great times - and grab some R&R. You two deserve it! Have SEVERAL drinks for us!!!:goodvibes
Love,
Janet

Tracy & Christine – Hope you both get some relief soon. Tracy, climb into those Mickeys PJs and Christine, glad M&M are taking over for you in the afternoon.
 to you both!

Nope- turned out Michael was having a crazy day...he never said anything to me, but asked Mia if he could take her at 4 instead of 3:30 - she took a very long nap today (never happens) so I relaxed in the chair while she slept...so I offered to keep her until 5. :thumbsup2

Going to hop in the shower soon, then get in bed and play on line for the evening. Not even hungry - whoever heard of such a thing from moi???? :confused3

I hope you can get some rest tonight, and start to feel better.

I am off to Meet The Teacher night at the kids' school. Hopefully Brian wil get home in time to watch the kids. I REALLY wish they would have some kind of childcare there for them. Even if they just let them all play in the gym or something, would be nice.

Speaking of meet the teacher night. I am fit to by tied right now. Cass really struggles in math. Doesn't help that it's in a different language, but that's beside the point. She is ADHD and medicated, but we are still tweaking it. The school all knows this. The teacher was going over the math in class, to make sure that they all understood the word problems so they could complete them at home. Of course this was lost on Cass so she raised her hand and told the teacher that she didn't understand. Her response? "If you have to ask that, then you obviously weren't listening."

I want to hurt her. My kid's confidence and self esteem is in the toilet as it is. How ignorant of this teacher. Mark is furious. I'm in tears.

I want to strangle her right now.

Me too. Can I help. You can strangle her, Mark can tie her down, and I'll stomp on her in spiked heels. Sorry you have to deal with this
:wave2::wave2::wave2: Pickles. See you in two weeks.

HAVE FUN!!!!:grouphug:

TGIF, Pickles!!!

Here in the states, there are federal laws that provide protection for public school students with disabilities (one such law is the section 504 plan). One of Samantha’s friends has one (she is ADHD also). One of the things she is given is extra time to finish tests, for example, and she does have some instructional time with a Learning Support teacher outside of the classroom. The law affords kids protection and offers assistance to address their needs.
Kids do need to be evaluated and tested to determine their needs and to see if they qualify. There is also an IEP (Individual Education Plan) that is available to qualifiying children (my son had one of these).

Do you have anything like this in Canada like this? It sounds like Cassie might benefit if you do have something similar. Just a thought.
