Pickle part III

When people stay in their "jammies" all day it is no wonder they aren't sure about their ticker. ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already. :scared1:

Hi Pickles!
I put my Jammies on early tonight. Such a rainy day, why not?

Tracy has vacatiom brain!!!!:lmao: 3 days willl go by so fast!

Hugs to you all pickles! I'm dreading Monday, even though it's been a rough weekend, at least it WAS a weekend!

Good morning, pickles! I have a confession... we are not in Maine. Here is a brief review of Operation Sneaky 2010. I could not say anything to anyone because my BFF had NO idea what I was up to and I couldn't risk anything said on Facebook or on the DIS as she reads here.

Wednesday Aug 25 we are on our way to Portland, Maine. Miss Cassie thinks we're headed to Old Orchard Beach for a few days. Momma wrote up some clues and hid them in the car. We sent her on a treasure hunt while we were on the road. First picture of confusion:

After opening clue, still thinks were are going to visit my cousin and then head to OOB.

 Finally, she figures it out!!

We had smooth flights all the way here. We were supposed to arrive at MCO at 11:30am but our flight leaving Portland was 2 1/2 hours late because we didn't have a plane due to poor weather the previous night. We made good time and finally arrived around 1:15. Waiting for ME and there it is!

Heading "Home" for 10 glorious days. :cloud9:

I had booked a standard room and we were upgraded to water view. We are in Jamaica 44, only a hop, skip and a jump to the pool and to our left is a gorgeous view of the lake and the bridge to Old Port Royale.

On August 27 we headed to Hollywood Studios for an ADR and 50's Primetime. So yummy. I don't have pictures of this. The next day was surprising my friend. Hee! We went to MK this night and had a blast. Cassie was so excited to play with her daughters and ride the attractions. We had supper at Crystal Palace. SOOOOOO good. We loved it. Mark has the pictures on his camera.

Saturday morning we were at Custom House waiting for my BFF and her family who were arriving from New York. She has NO idea that we are here. :yay: hehehe I had my sun hat on so she wouldn't recognize me. I approached her and tapped her on the shoulder saying, "excuse me, would you have any Slims Jims?" (an ongoing joke between us) and she gave me this look, still not recognizing me until I took my sunglasses off. OMG, the look on her face was priceless! She was shell shocked and couldn't believe it. She called me a name but I can't repeat it on here. hehehe They were so happy to see us!

Sunday, we went to Animal Kingdom. It was hotter n' Hades there. We had and ADR at Yak and Yeti. Mark and I had the ribs. They were out of this world. My dessert was the coveted:

So far, our meals were amazing. I made excellent choices for our ADRs. Woot!

Monday was our day at Epcot. Our family picture in front of the great big golf ball... :D

I finally scored my ADR at Le Cellier. :thumbsup2 Mark and I both had the fillet mignon and Cassie had the strip loin. All was absolutely delicious, although Mark did not care for the mushroom risotto. I loved it and could have licked the plate clean. :rotfl: I had the maple creme brulee for dessert (fantastic) and Cass had this - talk about sugar coma.

Two goofballs hamming it up:

Bwahahaha! :rotfl2:

Back at the room playing UNO - my coolio kid.

Today, my BFF and her family, along with Mark and Cassie are at Typhoon Lagoon and I am going to hit DTD and relax in the sun. Ahhhh. This evening we are going to eat at O'Hanas and watch the fireworks. I cannot wait!! Would you believe I have never seen them other than from the monorail while leaving the park when I was younger.

So there you have it - the first half of our vacation. I am in my happy place and wish I could stay here forever. :sad1:

I miss you all and hope you are having a great week. Talk to ya'll soon!

Oh yeah. Please don't say anything on Facebook about this. My step children don't know about this trip and would most likely be upset. My parents helped send us here as a make up trip because we were all sick on Cassie's first trip to Disney last year. They just can't afford to send all of us here, unfortunately. I'd feel awful if they knew. It's not fair, I know, but it is what it is. I hope you all understand. :(

TRACY!!!!
I am so happy for you!!! You got to go after all! My lips are sealed, but you have to come here and tell us all about it when you get home! Enjoy the rest of the trip!!!:grouphug:

You little sneak... welcome to the KOTS Club! :ssst: What an awesome vacation. Don't feel guilty that you couldn't bring the other kids. Just relax and enjoy it. They all get special things in different ways.

Was Caribbean Beach as lovely as you remember it? Glad you are getting to see more than the bathroom!

LIPS ARE SEALED. I am so happy that you are with the BIG MOUSE and having a great time. Can't wait to read all about it when you are back home. Hugs and kisses.

Hi Pickles!!! Guess what??? I think I have a Pickle!!!! We are looking at going "home" for Thanksgiving 2011. Looking at Nov 19-26, hoping for CSR. In a Pickle over dining to do or not to do dining. We will have 3 "adults" this time, so that is :scared1: price-wise.

How exciting. A trip to be planned WITH a pickle. You've come to the right place.

Is that 16-19, or 19-26?

I was going to ask the same thing...it makes a big difference when figuring in the dining plan.

I am Soooo excited. I think we NEED DDP if we stay at CSR...I looked at the Pepper Market menu...awesome, but expensive.

I'm Soooooexcited...a WHOLE WEEK at Disney!!!!!:cloud9:

Yes, I think the dining plan is best if you are going to stay at CSR. The PM has a lot of choices, but they are pricey. But don't forget that Cafe Rix has a lot of "to go" items too...but some of their sandwiches are not cheap either.

Anything in particular you want me to try to find out while I'm there in two weeks? Any pics? I'll be updating the "unofficial" site after my trip.

Cool!!! I have been looking at your CSR thread already for tips and ideas. I think I want to request the Cabanas....I like the "beachy" feel. If money were no object, I'd stay at the Poly, and the hammocks around the lake gave me that feel.

A few questions: Tip at PM...included or not?
Is there a boat to Downtown Disney, or did I imagine that?

So my Pickles at this point are:
1.DDP or not (and which one)

2.When should I book? I REALLY want CSR, and I'm sure it will book fast cause of the queen beds. But I really NEED a code of some sort. If I wait for a code and CSR is full, I'll kick myself. There are 2 codes for this year that I'm hoping they have one or the other next..the gift card or 30% off.

3.Where in the World should we eat Thanksgiving Dinner? (lunch is fine too)

Ok Pickles...that's the Pickle for now!!!

So my Pickles at this point are:
1.DDP or not (and which one) It depends...do you like to relax and have a nice meal?

There are 2 codes for this year that I'm hoping they have one or the other next..the gift card or 30% off. I would DEFINITELY book as soon as you can. People have been talking that they've been trying to book CSR and only able to find junior suites. I wouldn't waste any time.
3.Where in the World should we eat Thanksgiving Dinner? (lunch is fine too)
Do you want a traditional dinner? What about Liberty Tree Tavern -- they have the Thanksgiving dinner all year anyway? I don't know what else to suggest as we've never been there at Thanksgiving. Maybe the "food" threads will have ideas of other places that serve traditional Thanksgiving food? Boma maybe? WCC?

Ok Pickles...that's the Pickle for now!!!

Comments in red.

Well, It's funny, cause I said I'd never do DDP again unless it was free....felt like there were too many restrictions, and we LOVE the CS places in Epcot. But then Chris said how much he LOVES to eat in Disney, cause they take care of his allergies. So I think that pretty much sealed the deal, since my boy who doesn't like to eat much wants to eat!!! ( I know, I'll never be saying that in a few years:lmao:)
But the fact that he's an "adult" makes DDP over $1000, and at CS Places, he'll probably still just get Chicken Nuggets or a Hot Dog off the Kids Menu, cause they are "safe"

As for Thanksgiving, I really have no clue, that's why I asked. Doesn't have to be "thanksgivingy" foods. I was thinking maybe Kona...we LOVE that. Or Coral Reef. Might want to avoid the parks that day though.:surfweb:

Tracy - ENJOY! I’m glad you have a chance to see the Mouse! I loved the way you surprised Cassie! Have a wonderful trip. Hugs!

Heather - I’m so excited that a Disney trip is in the works for you … I’m glad the “pickle” is coming back into this thread. :goodvibes BTW, just checked the price of the dining plan for 2011 – adults $45.99 and peak times will be $47.99. Yikes!

Samantha had her orientation at middle school yesterday - bus comes at 7:23 am! School starts next Tues. Paul started Montco (community college) this past Wednesday. Can't believe he is in college. He did get a job with the State Liquor stores. He goes to school and then his job - I don't get to see him until 9:30 at night:sad1:

Hope all the pickles have a great (and safe) holiday weekend.
