Bwahahaha. You're funny. It's not 100% that we are spending Christmas with my parents. Need to talk about it when they get home. I am hopeful. If it doesn't happen, we will most definitely be going in 2011. Fingers crossed!

Today I was up WAY too early (4:30 am) .... but I managed to do 2 loads of laundry, the dishes from last night and work on the computer a bit.
So in an hour, I'm be ready for a nap

Paul has his learner’s permit and of course wants to go driving all the time – so far that duty has gone to Howard, thank goodness! He will be going to the local community college in the fall, at least for one year, which I think is good for him, as he admits to being not ready to leave home.

I've been loving the snowy weather here (I'm one of the weird ones, like the snow, but not the really cold temps) - of course the kids love it too, 4 snow days this year!

How old is Paul? I'm a little confused that he has his learners permit but is going to community college next year??? Our kids get their learners permit at 16 here.

He just never pushed the permit thing and since we only have 2 cars ... and Howard & I work FT, it's been hard to work it in. We are looking to getting a used car by June since Paul will need it for work/school. Since getting his permit, he has been practicing every weekend and Howard says he is quite good at it, so I expect Paul to be taking his road test by May.

I'm glad to be back too. I really missed the Pickle thread and I kind of lost touch with the DIS until now. It was becoming friends with all of you that made me visit the DIS …

Maybe I too can become a DIS queen like you Kat (or an apprentice one) once my obligations with school are over this year. Tracy is the Queen Pickle, I have to be something!!

Happy Thursday everyone! My last day of work this week

Now I understand. Although unusual for a guy to not want his drivers' license. My boys couldn't wait...and I never saw my car again in the evneing hours.

How lucky for you...only one more day of work. I wish I was off tomorrow...it's been a long week at the office. But the good news is Mark is home from Vegas so I have someone to eat with at night, etc.

How are the rest of my Pickles this fine Thursday morning? The sun is shining here which is always a good thing and upper 40s are predicted for this weekend. Hopefully, it will melt the rest of that ugly white stuff on my grass and we won't get anymore of it this year (or century would be fine too!).

Yes, Paul is a little unusual in that regard ... fine by me, as I am terrifed to think of him driving (it's the first born thing, most likely it will be easier for Sam when that times comes!).

Although I'm off tomorrow, I will be busy, at school, working on the computer, cleaning my house ... but not here!

Thanks so much everyone. It was a hard afternoon and evening. Emily has cried and cried. I guess we expected to go to the surgeon and he would say he could fix the problem and that would be that.

I am teaching in Charleston this weekend and I am taking Emily with me. We are leaving today about 11. I told her we could go ahead and plan her birthday party. She will be 16 on the 26th of this month. That got her mind off of everything.

I really appreciate the prayers and support.
