Cool!:thumbsup2

I just got home from the hospital. Both tests were negative on his heart (no blood clot, no tumor) and his catscan was negative for a stroke. He has been moved out of ICU and is now in the Cardiac Step Down Unit. When I got to the hospital, he was sitting up on the edge of the bed eating dinner (soup, yogurt and something else). They hope to have him up walking a few fee tomorrow morning, then more in the afternoon and again at night. They hope if they can get his strength up to have him home by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I am convinced that all of your prayers played a big part. Thank you.
I'm glad is is doing so well!!! Still sending up prayers!
Schools are closed here. Icy roads this morning and high winds. We are under a heavy snowfall, sleet and rain warning. No kids to pick up today. I'm about to start my crab rangoons and bake my chicken for chicken a la king. Still no clue what to make MIL for supper tomorrow. Ack!
Yummmm!!!
No school here either. Wish I didn't have to work.
Oooh....those look yummy (and I noticed the Partylite candle right next to your Crabrangoons).

Good morning to all my Pickles. I am so glad it is Friday. It has been a long week and I can't wait to be home and just do laundry and clean and give the dog a bath. Wait, maybe I should just come to work? Andy wants me to go with him tomorrow to Hot Yoga--he said it will be a perfect way for me to unwind. Okay, why don't I think sitting on a floor for 90 minutes doing yoga positions in 105 degrees is going to be fun? And who the he** is going to pick my sorry a** off the floor, I ask you?

ok...I'm glad you described what Hot Yoga was, cause my mind was totally somewhere else...I was trying to figure out why you would do something like that with your son and not your husband.:confused3:rotfl:

Mind out of the gutter, please. This is a family show. :lmao::lmao:

Trac, those do look yummy! How I wish I could make some and surprise Mia. :) Bet the house smells wonderful...even if I am not a fan food scented candles - I like fresh Lilac...or ocean or water scent...or coconut...sigh...take me away...

...but not to 105 degree 90 mins of yoga!!! Lordy, Kathy, what is he thinkin?? Sounds like torture, not relaxation...even if it was hubby! ;)

Heather, are you working today? Do the kids have school? How much snow are you all getting?

Kath and Trac ~ how about snow up your way? Be careful! Tracy, no school means Cassie is home - hope she is playing and having a nice day.:thumbsup2

Yes, I'm working, but the kids have a snow day.
I'm going crazy!

Not sure how much snow we really got, cause it is REALLY windy and blowing huge drifts.

The actual snowfall is finally winding down.

COME ON, SPRING!!!

BUT.....120 Days till my cruise!!!:cool1:

Well, I just woke up. I had a shower, laid down on the couch with hair soaking wet, and you should see what I look like now! Let's just say I could give Medusa a run for her money. OMG. :scared1:

So far it's only raining, but it's freezing as soon as it hits the road. Not going to be pretty in a couple of hours. And Mark has a mostly all up hill drive home from work. Wheeeeeeeeeeee.

The wild hair up my butt seems to have flown somewhere else. Sigh. Anyone want to come and make meat balls for me for supper in three hours? Gah. Also. my tooth that I had a root canal in a year ago is hurting like heck. I thought they aren't supposed to hurt again because the nerves are dead? Grrr.

Cassie is downstairs playing twister with a "friend". Now don't get me wrong. This girl is a sweet child, very polite and quiet. She calls here all.the.time to ask if she can come over. Sometimes she has the nerve to ask to be picked up of if we can driver her home. Cassidie has NEVER set foot in their house. Whenever Emma asks her mother if Cass can come over, the answer is no. Now, call me mean. But I feel this is completely rude. You don't invite yourself over to someone's house and expect them to drive you either or sometimes both ways. And what is up with Cass not being able to go over there. I feel like the child's babysitter for pete's sake. Ok, rant over. I need chocolate now. :rolleyes1

We got pictures of food and candles. Why not hair? :rotfl2:

I hope Mark gets home safely.

I hate parents like that. They always expect for your child to be by "your" house, but they never invite your kid(s) over. What is with that.

Chocolate. I thought you had a stack of Three Musketeers to hit. I'm being a good girl, again, and eating a salad. I got to tell you I'm getting tired of being a "good girl."

Chocolate. I need Chocolate. And pictures of Tracy's hair.:lmao:

I'm sick of chocolate - want mine?

Kathy, forget about being good - live a little! (easy for me to say - I've got 40 lbs to lose and a pantry full of mini candies - I want someone else to be less than good with me!!).

Well, good news girls, I think. My brother is coming home tomorrow. I guess with no insurance they want to release him as soon as possible (although I think even with insurance they pushyou out)...personally, I think they are rushing it just a tad. They have given him vouchers that will take care of his medications and labs for the next three weeks (you will recall he has no insurance). He's still very tired, but they had him up walking three times today and he did not gasp or pant from the effort.

This is wodnerful news - but I'd be a tad concerned too about releasing him so soon. Still, it is good to read what wonderful care he recieved.

I have no insurance and there are no good hospitals around, no clinics, no where to go for care. Only private practices and they only see those with insurance. Thank God he was able to receive such good care. Is the hospital in the city?

Will for sure continue the heartfelt prayer for him, you and your dear family.

YES!!!!
I gave Brian a chocolate heart for Valentine's day. It is still half full and staring at me. I know it would be rude to eat the chocolate that was HIS gift, but it's tempting!!!

That is great news!!!! You are right...they seem to push you out no matter what anymore. I'm glad they are covering his labs and meds.

Once he is home, have him go on the website of whatever pharmaceutical co. makes his meds. Many of them have patient assistance programs to help with the cost.

It is Central DuPage Hospital -- one of the best for heart patients. They have been very good to him and have started the paper work to help him get disability to pay the hospital bills.

Thanks for that tip. I will be sure to write down his medications and research this for him.

Morning, Pickles!

Can't believe I forgot to stop by to say hello to my bestest Pickle friends. ::yes::

Kathy, sounds like a good day!

:grouphug: to all!

Well, my brother is not coming home. Something wrong with his kidneys -- creatine in his kidneys or something. I'll go to the hospital later to see if any news.

Well, good they found it before he was released. Hopefully they can treat it and get things back on track quickly. Prayer continued!

Good morning. Weren't you up bright and early. I slept until 9:30 -- it was heavenly. Now I'm watching the high school team state wrestling championships on the computer.
Yeah...Chris got up at 6. Then I turned on the TV and the forst thing on the news was the earthquake in Chile and the tsunami warning for Hawaii.:scared1: My parents live in HI, so I've beem freaking out. I talked to Mom earlier, and they seem to be as prepared as they can be.

Good night Pickles...rest well and sweet dreams.:cloud9:

Hoping for good news about your brother tomorrow, Kathy.

Morning, Pickles!!!

Skipping church today....the kids were supposed to sing today, but slept in, so I let them sleep...they needed it.

Taking Martina for a haircut today. Depending on where we go, I might look for a dress for my cruise and maybe even stop by the Disney store.:thumbsup2
