Hello!

I have been extended a Summer PI for 2008 (May/June thru August) and am looking into the housing situation. My recruiter pitched Northbridge apartments to me and it seemed like a viable option until I read the reviews here! Absolutely nothing seems appealing about it, especially the staff and safety (or lack thereof).

Are there are past PI, CP, or CMs who have suggested places to rent while working at Disney? I'd be looking for maybe a 2-3 bedroom, FURNISHED, in a SAFE community with amenities, if possible. Some threads have mentioned general areas but seeing as I am coming from Chicago, I would really appreciate some extra help!!

Can anyone help? Or anyone else in the same boat?

So you'll be there June-January? You may want to look at Parc Vue...it's not far from property, and it's a nice area with some nice amenities. Camden is also a good place to look at. Are you a current CM? You may want to look around on the HUB in the classified area as well, because there's typically other CM's who are looking for roommates and such...that could help you out there. Hope that helps!

Parc Vue is quite nice and is right next to the Port Orleans area at Disney. Forget the name of it, but there is another right next to it as well thats nice.

Camden and Mirrabella are right next to the Nickolodian Hotel near Disney and are very nice as well.

Plantation Park and a few other complexes right off of 535 are very viable places to live.

Northbridge is pathetic. I would almost rather live under an underpass than to live that far away, pay that much to live there, and live in such an enviroment.

I am not a cast member yet. My PI last June 1 (as I will be arriving just a little later) through August. Hopefully once I sign the final offer letter, I'll have access to the HUB...? It seems like there is a wealth of information there!

Awesome! I'm definitely going to be checking those places out. Craigslist just doesn't have the options for such a short stay/furnished apartment. Thanks for your fast replies!!!

You'll gain access to the Hub on your check-in date for your internship, unfortunately you can't get it until then :( But keep your eyes out on the boards and facebook groups and such...maybe you can find somebody from there!

How much do average PIs get paid? Is it enough to support oneself while down there? I assume rent would be high.

Really depends on how much you are making as a PI. The rates vary drastically. I know some PIs that only make $8.50 an hour, but the management PIs make around $615 per week before taxes.

Its very difficult to live in this area when you are on the lower spectrum of the pay scale.

I know some will say its quite adequate, but if mommy and daddy arent still paying for everything you get, it can be quite a challenge.
