I am going to Disney in September with our family of 8 and my parents. This will be our last "big trip" as a whole family living at home. I don't want to get home and wish I'd taken.....

Could you please post must do pictures, ideas, pictures you'd wished you took, spontaneous beautiful pictures. You can even load some of your favorite pictures.

We are also doing the princesses and characters any ideas or unique pictures that people have taken. Please share!

I plan on walking up to the platform at the railroad at the entrance at Magic Kingdom and taking a picture looking down towards the castle. I hope there are no trees that block the view from up there. I always wanted to try that shot, but always forget.

You mean like this.
I took this picture from the platform of the rail station, see no trees.

I think I would like to take more pics in epcot esp. Mexixo since going there I fell in love with my culture, and i can compare and contrast them. Also the cinderella fountain

I think it is fun to take pics of all the different countries in Epcot with my family doing something silly. For example in Mexico I had my dd, ds and husband put on these huge sombrero's, sit on the ground and play some drums that were nearby. It is a great pic and I always joke that "hey that was when we were in Mexico" (nevermind that it was Mexico in Epcot). Another one is taking a picture of the troll in Norway with my dd and ds wearing viking type hats. In Canada we put everyone in the stockades out front. I think that funny pics like these are the ones that you always remember and always seem to turn out great! Have a great trip :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, I lost my breath with that photo :goodvibes
Main Street is by far the best. I can't stop staring at that photo. We leave in 36 days and that is the one shot I will not miss!!! Thanks for this thread.

First, I love the picture of Main Street! I will have to take one on the next trip. We have a tradition of taking DBF's picture with the troll in Norway every trip! The only picture I can think of that I wish I had is of my nephew (16 at the time) waiting in line in the castle to get his picture taken with Cinderella. He was surrounded by lots of little girls, many in costume. He was Prince Charming and let every little girl go in front of him before he got his picture done. I do love the picture of him with Cinderella. Another favorite from the same trip was taken of him while riding in the front of the monrail at sunset. The sky was bright pink behind him.

On our very first family trip in 2000, I was in total "scrapbook" mode with the pictures I took.....took more pics of signage, and "things" and "stuff" than I did of the kids. I didn't have a digital camera at the time and when I finally got all the pics back from being developed, I was sooo disappointed with the lack of photos of the family. So, all subsequent trips, I've made sure to take lots and lots of pics of the people I'm with and fun/funny stuff we're doing. I've gotten terrific candid pics of the kids while they're not looking.....those seem to be some of the best photos of all! :flower:

This sounds awesome! Were the props already there?(ie. sombrero's, drums, viking type hats)

We took the kids' pictures with Mickey in his tent/got his autograph there, too. Got Goofy's autograph somewhere else. So when we saw Mickey and Goofy in front of Mission Space in their space suits, we didn't stop for a picture. I wish we had...they looked so cool!

I always do that - spend my time stuck behind the camera taking pictures of "things" - the monorail, the castle, the rides, the parades etc etc... I looked at our family photos over the last 15 years and we have the same stock of photos every year! And you're right the ones with the people in are the best - especially as we can laugh about our hair and our clothes - but when you're up against the castle or a fountain every time you can see how much you've grown!

This year I'm not taking a photo unless it has someone in it!

I love the hats theme - last trip me and my DH2B took loads of pictures wearing hats, definitely doing that again this trip :0)

We just did that in June, but you can't get that darn flagpole out of the picture. The trees were not that much of an issue as you are taller than they are.

One more thing, pay attention to where the Disney photographers pose their subjects. We had a great picture taken in the circle in front of the castle. We were in front of the Partners statue and the photographer got us, the statue and the castle in the one picture. Remember that the Disney photographers will also take your picture with your camera for you.

I know just what you mean! In 2003 I was in the same "scrapbook" mode and I took 15 rolls(!!!!!) of buildings and signs and stuff! I think in my mind I was trying to capture the "feel" of Disney so I could come home and show people just how beautiful Disney is but the real "feel" is your family doing fun things and making memories! In 2004, when I went w/ my girlfriend and her children, I hardly took any pictures. Maybe a roll. We have another family trip planned this year and I'm going to be sure to take more pictures with the family actually in them. :earboy2:

Tigertam - Yes all the props are there (for sale of course :teeth: ) we just "borrow" them for the pic! For Mexico it is the little stand outside. For Norway it is after you get off the boat ride in Norway and in Canada the stockades are right out front of Canada. Oh telling you this information makes me wish we were there right now :flower: Have a most wonderful trip!!

LOL!! Im the opposite!! They call me CAMERA STALKER! I take pics of them eating, sleeping in the strollers with messy hair  waiting for character greet, waiting in line for a ride, going to the bathroom, getting the snacks, in the rides, in the stores :rotfl: trying on all the silly hats, with the toys, also always take pics of the kids faces watching the shows, fireworks and parades, the look on their faces is priceless, (for anything else is mastercard lol Jusr Kidding!) . Another pic that is my thing , since im always taking pics they walked ahead of me,so i got a bunch of pics in differents places of the walking along looking around or holding hands.

You use the stairs to the WDW RR entrance. As soon as you walk in the park (which is under the RR platform (through the locker area) you will see the stairs. One of my favorite photos is of my DS then 2 standing up on the platform with his Mickey ears on looking out at the castle. I took the photo with his back to me as he is looking out onto Main Street and the castle. Scanner isn't working so I cannot post, but it makes a really nice picture!
