Photopass with reopening

We have had people offer to take pictures on our phone at Downton Disney and Touch of Disney. We’ve returned the favor. Everyone’s carrying hand sanitizer and uses it afterward. Not a big deal. 🤷‍♀️
This is my thought, if photopass ends up being a no go (I can't stomach paying for it again, when I've already paid for Maxpass, that they currently say they won't refund). I figures I'll wipe down my phone after anybody else touches it.

Thankfully we have friends down there the same time, so hopefully we run into them and can do a family castle pic for each other.

Volunteering to do it once or twice on your own is one thing. Expecting someone making $14/hour to do it all day long for hundreds of people is a different story entirely, and also a recipe for a super spreader. Also, consider the ramifications of the castmember needing to reapply hand sanitizers between every group of people. That is definitely not good for their skin or health. And changing to a new pair of gloves for each group is incredibly wasteful. Phones do a fabulous job at taking selfies these days.

Sure... I didn’t say I expected CMs to take pictures?

My comments were in response to post #15, which was specifically about getting the CM to take the photos. Of course, visitors are free to do as the please in this regard. There are definitely no guidelines/rules about holding other people's phones/cameras.

They do. Of individuals. It would be very hard to get one of a family with any background though.

Since they didn't remove/refund MaxPass from your tickets, and we know they had PhotoPass in ToD, I wonder if they will allow you to use at least the PhotoPass portion of the MaxPass that you've already paid for... fingers crossed!

I asked in the chat. They told me know. But I haven't given up on either the refund or still being allowed that benefit! I just need to find time where I can call in and talk to somebody.

I didn't buy Memory Maker for our last WDW trip ($170 for the trip if you buy in advance.. yikes) and I don't think many other folks did either. We constantly had folks offer to take our picture when they saw us attempting selfies and vice versa. The mood was very kind surrounding the whole issue. I also saw folks with those little mini tripods taking pictures that way too.

I bet half the reason WDW allows you to take your masks off now for your pictures is probably to help sell Memory Maker. Which worked because I bought it for our June trip.. I really hope DL follows suit with this policy by the time we go later this year. 🤞

I think that really stinks though that DLR is claiming they won't refund MP on tickets. Not cool. Hopefully that won't be the official word.

I chatted and got this answer. I will not be very happy if they don't refund Maxpass on my two 5 day tickets. I spent over $100 more than the price Disney has them now.

Feeling the same. I have Maxpass on 6 five day hoppers for my family. I would be willing to eat the cost if I could at least keep the photopass benefit, but to not have that either! I'm going to let the parks open and see how things are playing out and then I think I'll call where I can escalate it if necessary.

I see a week of PhotoPass is $78. Does anyone know how much it is for a single day or a single picture?

Usually about $15 per individual picture.

Thanks. Do you know if I have to buy the week package ahead of time or can I see the pictures and decide if I like 5 or more, to then decide to get them all. Does that make sense?

I feel like you could but I could be wrong. You'd think Disney would release more info soon about since we know MP isn't available. 🤷‍♀️

I have no idea how it’s working now, but with maxpass, there were two things you could do:

1) just buy maxpass for a single day, as an upgrade (I think you could do this, or at least you could definitely do this on the last day of your trip or as an AP) and then take all your photos that day rather than paying for the whole week

2) just have one person buy maxpass for the photo pass benefit. No need to have all members buy it. Of course, you then couldn’t really use the real purpose of maxpass for the fast passes.

not sure how that applies these days but maybe there’s a one day photo pass option rather than buying for the whole week.

The price has gone up significantly, if TOD pix are anything to go by. My TOD pix are two 4x6 prints or one 5x7 for $18.95. An 8x10 will run you $20.95.

What about a digital image? I don't necessarily want a hard copy picture right away.
