Okw hot tubs

What would take their place in the rooms?
Some are now ‘percolating’ tubs. The bottom of the tub has tiny holes that pump air up through the water.

Which I think the problem with jacuzzis was they’d get gunky inside, and sometimes break or be gross to use. Complaints of black stuff or moldy gunk etc. So maybe these new tubs will have less issues.

Yes, the air tubs don’t have the problems the jetted tubs did. The jets don’t drain completely so dirty water got left in them. They’d have to fill the tub with a disenfecting solution in the water and run the jets between each guest. Air tubs push air through a tube that has a backflow valve to prevent water from getting in, and after the tub drains it automatically runs air through for a few minutes to dry the ends of the tubes.

I don’t know of any air tubs in the Disney resorts, though. Have you stayed at a resort that has them?

We are next month - a 1BR at Boardwalk Villas. They replaced the tubs back in 2023 to the percolating kind.

BW’s are now just soaking tubs. I was confused with 1BR VGF having the percolating tubs becasue we’re staying there too.

The CCV cabins have them. I didn't use it, but I did fill the tub and run it to see if it needed to be cleaned. It didn't look like something that I'd like, but I can't knock it since I didn't try it. It scared the bejeezes out of me when I went to bed and it suddenly decided to blow out, making a loud noise like something was about to explode. 😂

Do they percolate? I thought they were just deep soaking tubs.

Maybe I’m getting confused? There aren’t many pictures inside the different villa tubs. These details are mostly hidden within videos. We’re trying 3 different 1BRs this year - BWV, VGF, and VGC. For sure I came across at least one of those having the percolating. Remembering the video showed it being square, thought it was BW.

We need a DVC Tubs thread 😂

VGFs percolates.....at least so says a YouTube I just looked at where I could see tiny holes in the tub :-)

I'm most familiar with OKW (see my screen name) but I've only actually used the jetted tub there a handful of times over 30+ years of ownership.

However, I have a vague recollection that the jetted tub is specified in the documents and that's something that can't be easily changed under FL timeshare laws. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Yep, sadly they are replacing most of them with soaking tubs. I still use them bc I love taking baths and just bring bath bombs when staying at a non-bubble tub resort. I "think" VGF, RIV and Cascade cabins have the air bubble tubs. Although we did stay at a GV at VGF and that was a jetted tub. But the shower also turned into a sauna so it was super fancy!

I’m not what the legal situation is. But I remember when BCV was renovated around 2017 and the jetted tubs were removed, someone here was quite angry about being deprived of something they believed they were legally entitled to. I think they confronted DVC about it but didn’t get anywhere, obviously, because the jetted tubs never reappeared at BCV.
