Photopass Superthread!

I have my photopass plus in hand for my Christmas trip. I know our group will split off various ways each day. Can I merge individual photopasses into my PP + when I get home? I know I will need to get the ride photos onto the PP+ card each day. But do I need to get every photo onto the card or can I do that when I get home? Thank you.

You can add multiple cards to your account online. No problem with that at all!

When I was there the week before Thanksgiving, I was told in the Photo Center that I had to go into the Photo Center to have the pictures moved from the regular PP card to my PPP card. They said I couldn't do it online. I didn't want to risk it so I made sure to do it in the parks before our vacation ended.

You can take a picture of your PPP card on your cell phone (and other party member's cell phones) and they can show that to the photographers to have them scan.

This is true, you can't combine them onto your PP+ card online. However, you can enter multiple cards into your online account and then all photos in your account will be included when you order your CD. There is no need to combine them all onto one card (and waste valuable park time doing so).

So what's the difference? Doesn't sound like there is one other than spending the time at the Photo Center in the park if all the pictures are included on the PPP CD?

From my perspective, there isn't a difference. It's just a pain to visit the photo center, so I just add them all online instead of bothering to do it at the park.

I'm no expert, but I think the difference is that the PP+ card gets you all the ride and character meal photos. The regular PP card does not get you digital versions of those and you pay quite a bit for hard copies.

Right. We weren't talking about the difference between a regular PP card and a PP+ card, though. We were discussing the value of having all your regular cards combined onto the PP+ card at the Photo Center in the park versus just entering the various card numbers into your online account. All the photos get into your account (and onto your CD) with either method. So, my stance is that there is no reason to waste park time combining the cards, since it ultimately makes no difference.

And, yes, you can order a CD of the photos without buying the PP+, but with the preorder discount, you're not paying extra for the + part.

Few questions because i'm not scrolling back.

I have to claim my pictures by the 2nd of December does that mean just on their site or do I need to download the pictures by then as well.

Also One of my magic shot pictures is missing the character and I have someone elses Pluto picture and missing my own. I have emailed them but again wondering how long it will take for them to respond considering the above issue.

Also eh I preordered the photopass plus so once they are all edited and what not how do I download them all?

You have 30 days to claim them on the site and then another 30 days to buy/ download them. So if the 2 Dec is 30 days since your first photo was taken, you still have another 30 days to play with the photos and order.

If the Pluto photos are not there at the first 30 day point that is ok, they will just show up when/if they find them. It only took a few days for Disney to come back to me about my missing ones - some of them they found for me and some they didn't.

Once you have the photos all ready to go, find the CD option and order that - you don't have to add all the photos to it. Once you have selected the CD you can then choose whether to get the actual CD or the digital download. I think you then have to enter the code that was inside your CD case (received before the trip) to get it 'free'.

So, we're buying APs again in January! We're planning another trip in February. I know from past experience that I can get both trips on the same CD by waiting until the end of January to claim them. However, I'd like to do the PP+ and get my DD7's first ride on Screamin' in January on there. Do the ride photos have the same expiration? Could I wait to connect the ride photos from Early January until the end of the month, too? And then just order the CD with my voucher at the end of February?

Yes, you can do this. The ride photos last as long in your account as any other photos. The only difference with the ride photos / character meal photos, is that you can only collect them for 14 days from when you activate the PP+ card. So if you get PP + for the January trip, and use it to get ride photos etc. then you won't be able to use it for those type of photos in February.
Claim all the Jan photos within 30 days of the first photo being taken/ PP+ being activated, then either use your + card or an ordinary photopass card for the Feb trip and do as you suggested and get all the photos on the one CD.
Hope that helps!

As discussed above you can add multiple regular PP cards to your account when you get home, and all those photos will be on the CD when you order it. You can combine them in the Photo Center at Disneyland too and some people prefer to check them that way as well, just be aware that I believe that will mean that you have already 'claimed' them in your account so you then only have 30 days from that point to order them. (Rather than 30 days to claim and then 30 to order)

In terms of any advantage in having the 'plus' over regular PP - the advantage is in the ride and character meal photos being included at no extra cost - digital versions for the ride and hard copy & digital for character photos. Plus some people have said that when they were wearing their PP+ lanyard the photographers took more time with them.

Anyone could get multiple Photopass cards, add them to their account online and order them as one CD, so the 'plus' is no advantage there. The advantage is in the other photos that you usually have to pay more for (e.g ride and character). They can be added to your CD or accessed digitally without PP+ too, but you will have paid $14 - $35 each for them, on top of the CD cost.

Nope, not true on the 30 day thing they added the pictures from my regular PP card to my PPP card in DL photo store on 11/20. I didn't go online to enter my PPP card until 11/22 and my deadline to order is 12/22

That is exactly how I was hoping it would work! Thanks!

Thanks egritz, good to know it doesn't affect the 'claim time'.

Just a quick question.

We will be arriving Dec 20th, with park days of the 21st & 22nd. I want to get the pass on the 20th so I don't have to worry about it on the 21st.

On Dec 20th will I be able to go into Goofy's Kitchen at around 3pm and purchase the Photopass+? I realize I will pay $99 but that is worth it to me as opposed to wasting precious park time on the 21st.

Is buying at one of the character meals still an option?

Will I get all the same stuff you would normally get if prepurchased?

Thanks.

Hello, I am planning to visit Disneyland at the end of April 2015 (Sunday April 26th, Monday April 27th and Tuesday April 28th) . I am not from USA, i am from Ecuador (Southamerica). I am planning to buy a 3 day ticket park with Hooper and Magic Morning. I also would like to buy photopass + and pay $69.95 in advance instead of $99.95.

My questions are:
1) I read about a CD that will arrive to my home. I understand it should apply to people living in USA. As i am ecuadorian, not sure how it will apply to me, can i get it from the camera station at the beginning of my trip? :confused3

2) After i visit Disneyland i will be visiting some other places in the West Coast that will take me around 2 weeks. When i return to my country , could i still download the pics? Because i read about 14 days time :confused3

3) If i buy it now (dec 2014), will it expire until my visit in April 2015? :confused3

Thank you in advance.

Have a great day, people!! :cool1:

Disney offer international shipping for the PP+ at no additional cost. I live in Australia and it wasn't any problem. It just takes a bit longer. You need the package to be able to claim your PP+ when you arrive at DLR. Don't forget to take the card with you.

The PP+ is valid for 14 days from when you claim it at DLR. As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter when you actually purchase it (although it might be a problem if you bought it years in advance or something :rotfl:).

That 14 days is only for adding photos (so if your trip was longer than 2 weeks, you wouldn't be able to get any more ride/character meal photos added to your card). You still have 30 days to claim them, then another 30 to download them I believe.

Disney do not offer free international shipping, so the best option is to download all your photos. When you are claiming your photos, you still select purchase CD, even though you've already made the purchase and you don't want a CD (makes perfect sense right? :rotfl:). You then enter the code that came with your PP+ package, and select download as your delivery option.

I know you don't want to waste park time to get the photopass+ with the preorder but it literally took me less than 5 min when I went. I would gladly save $30 for 5 min. You may even be able to do it while waiting for rope drop.

I do not know if you can buy it from Goofys. If you cant buy it from Goofys, the good thing is, if you already bought the photopass+ ahead of time, you may be able to just show them that and get the prints right then instead of having to buy them and then be reimbursed when you buy the PP+.

If there does happen to be a line to redeem the PP+ you can always come back later. I was there in June and the shop was mostly empty the times I walked by.

anyone having difficulty adding borders to their photos? I've done this before (this is our 2nd time doing PP+) and when I click on add borders, I don't get any options. It will let me edit the photo, but not add borders.

This is very typical of the PP site. Just walk away and come back tomorrow.
