Hi everyone,

Been to WDW many times, but later this year will be our first DL trip.

I know there are a lot of Photopass opportunities at the 4 Orlando parks (primarily around the icons), but what about DL/DCA?

I'd hate to pre-order the CD and only have a few photo spots. ;)

There seem to be more in DCA than Disneyland. There are normally PP on Main Street, at the castle, in front of the Partners statue and with the characters. We once got a pict in front of the HM, but I haven't seen a PP there since. There is also often one in front of the Mickey head flower arrangement by the entrance. DCA has many opportunities. Normally there is someone near Carthay, one by the PP bridge, several in Carsland, sometime there is one near TOT or on Hollywood Blvd. There is also usually one near the waterfall from Grizzly peak, and with characters.

I haven't seen anyone by the PP bridge as of late, the last time I got a picture there was probably around the time Carsland opened. Carsland has taken a LOT of the photogs in the area. There's one by the Storytellers Statue and sometimes there's one by the fountain near Carthay. I've only seen a photog once by TOT after DCA 2.0 happened, and same thing with the waterfall near Grizzly Peak. Keep on the lookout for roaming photographers though, sometimes you can get them to take you to multiple locations.

If you're visiting sometime during the weekdays, in DL there's a photographer (but I can't remember his name right now) by the Partners Statue. If he's not busy, you can ask him to take some pictures of you around the hub. You'll start with the statue, go towards Tomorrowland, then a shot with the Matterhorn (maybe with a monorail!) and finally to the side of the castle. Hope this helps!

Do you know if you preorder the photopass plus you also get all your on ride photos (California Screamin', Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, RSR, and TOT) plus your photo package from the character meals are included (Goofy's, Ariel's, PCH Grill, and Minnie's). This made it well worth it in our opinion. We were in the park 5 days and ended up with over 200 photos.

I think a lot of it is timing. We got picts in front of TOT, Grizzly Peak and Paradise Pier two weeks ago. Yet, we didn't walk by at anytime that Duffy was out (which is one place we get our pictures taken EVERY time!).

I have a season pass to Disneyland and I have gone just to see how many photos I could get a cast member to take, and let me tell you, I didn't get many. I have also gone to disneyworld and at disneyworld it is worth it, but in my opinion for Disneyland just have the cast member use your camera.

There usually isn't any photographers with the characters, at least not at Disneyland, there is in California Adventure.

We got over 160 photos on a 4 day trip... plus the ride and character Breakfast photos with PP+ all for around $70... totally worth it in my opinion.

We always do the PhotoPass PhotoCD Pre-purchase, ans from now on we'll do the PhotoPass+ pre-purchase. The ride photos are the best part of the PP+.

However, at DLR, on the whole, the PhotoPass photographers were not at the same quality at the WDW photographers. They were all really nice, but the availability was much less. For instance, I couldn't believe there were no photographers on Main Street in the mornings. Later in the day you would see a couple near the Photo Supply Company/Refreshment counter area. Also, the Magic Shot experience was horrible at DLR. The photographers knew of them, but the execution of them was a disaster. We got home and found out one photographer took the picture wrong and the Magic Shot could not be applied. Also, one time the guy told us all to look in this direction for a couple different Magic Shots, only to see the shot later with us all looking in the wrong direction.

This type of thing never has happened to us at WDW in several trips. Hopefully the photographers were just having a bad day, and you won't find any problems.

Good call, although most character spots in the Main Street town square area don't have PP photographers.

How did you get all that for around $70????

Different visitors seek out different characters. That may be why some think "most" characters have Photopass photographers at meet 'n greets, while others see them only a "few" times.

There will certainly be photographers at listed character greeting locations, which include the Royal Walk (and soon the new PFF), Merida's area across from IASW, and Rapunzel's tower (soon to be Merida's location). The Oasis, where Aladdin & Jasmine sometimes are found, is more hit and miss.

It's rare to have a Photopass photographer by the Wishing Well, or anywhere along that path where princesses can sometimes be found.

It's been my observation, that if a fuzzy (non-face) character has a meet 'n greet on Main Street, you will probably see a Photopass photographer.

Disregarding character meals and special events, it will be almost impossible to get Photopass shots with some face characters in Disneyland Park, notably: Mad Hatter, Alice, Mary Poppins, Bert, Peter Pan and Wendy.

Its nice to know that I have had some "almost impossible" photos taken, as I have PP shots with all of the above characters from various trips.;)

I do agree that it is definitely more rare to have a PP photog's with those characters, but it is not unheard of. We have some great PP shots of DS(11) with Bert and Mary (super rare) together (Bert was in fine form that day hamming it up for the camera) in their finest garb! So fun!
