I have read numerous threads, but I am still confused as to whether I should pre-order and how to do it.

We are visiting Disneyland and then flying to disney world and then back to disneyland for a couple of days. Should we pre-order a photopass CD, if yes how do I order it. Can we get the photo's from both disney's on the one CD. Thanks.

I understand how it can be confusing particularily for a situation like yours.

You can get both resorts on one cd. Don't preorder a cd. Just make the account now or later. But you have 30 days from when the first photos were taken to claim them by entering you photopass cards into you online account. Then 30 days to edit and order products. Because of that first 30 day window if your US trip is long that may cause some problems.

Being that a PP CD for DL is $59 and WDW $149 though onsale for $99 by preordering, the question is what will you pay?

The answer is the card you enter last determines the price. You will want to use a card from DLR on your second trip there to enter last. It's a lot of savings and feels like a glitch in the system. So for the few of us that get a trip to both parks in a month hopefully it keeps working.

To learn more about PP I highly reccomend this site, though it has a very WDW view about it. http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/

Oh No...
I didn't know this trick!
So if our first day at DL is on the 20th of this month and then in Jan our last day at WDW say on the 27th, I would have to get prepaid WDW photopass or I'll have to pay $150?

Because the first day of DL PP would be the 20th and that means I have to register my DL card by the 19th. And that means I have to add WDW card afterwards and lose my DL pricing?

Is that correct?

That does sound correct, as unfortunate as it is to get both trips on one cd. But you will find the prepay deal for $99 in a link on the site I posted. At least that will save you something.

The trick works best for some on this side of the boards because if the live in Orange county and have an AP. They can pop over to DL post trip and get a picture taken on a DL PP card and voila they've saved money.

Don't forget that at Disneyland you can buy a Gallery Photo CD for $59.95 and inside is a voucher to get $59.95 off your PhotoCD. So you end up getting the Gallery CD of over 300 high resolution photos from around Disneyland for the same price as you would have paid for the PhotoCD alone.

Just another option to confuse the pot, lol.

You can buy the Gallery Photo CD at the Kodak shop at the top of Main Street (right hand side by The Plaza Inn).

My understanding is that Disneyland pictures have to be taken AFTER WDW ones to get the DLR pricing. So OP would be fine since DLR is after WDW (but I'd get a new card on the 2nd DLR trip to be safe), but if you went straight from DL to WDW, you'd still have to pay the WDW price no matter which card you put in the system last. Someone that's actually done it, please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are right 3Minnies1Mickey.:goodvibesIt doesn't matter when you enter the cards, the park you are in last will determine the price you will pay. Go to DLR last and pay $59.95, go to WDW last and pay $149.95 or $99.95 prepay. I have done this several times over the last few years and this is how it works. If you ask photopass how it works their answer may confuse you. (I did me last year). They didn't come out and say it was the last park you were in the determined the pricing but that is exactly how it works. Last year I had to make a trip to DLR just to get a few PP taken to have them be the last ones.

It wasn't like this about 3-4 years ago. The pricing was based on the last card uploaded. Disney figured it out though and closed this loophole. I was running a CD Share (no longer allowed on these boards) about 3 years ago and one of my members uploaded one more WDW card after I had done my DLR cards. The pricing changed to the WDW price. I had to make a trip to DLR to get a few PP taken to reset the pricing.

And yes, get the Photo Gallery CD with the free coupon. It costs $59.95 in the store. You will get a credit for $59.95 plus free shipping. If you or someone in your party has an AP you will get a discount on the CD in the store. It saved me about $8.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. I have done the PP CD so many times that I'm now an expert. I can't tell you how many PP CDs I have in my house.;)

Since you are going to DLR last you will pay the DLR price of $59.95. What I usually do when I combine my trips is I wait until the last day (30 days after my first PP is taken) to upload and then I have another 30 days to order. A total of 60 days to get PP taken. And if you need just a few days more you can pay for it. $4.95 for 7 days and $9.95 for 15 more days.

So no, do not pre-order the WDW PP CD. You will pay $99.95 instead of $59.95.

GOING TO DISNEYLAND DEC. 23, 2010. RAIN, RAIN, STAY AWAY!
