Photopass CD for $99

NO Picture CD is worth $99.00 IMHO.... Especially a CD full of pictures that you will have to invest more money in to get printed, whether you are paying Walgreens to do it or doing it yourself and paying for the materials. My opinion? Take the $100.00, invest in a digital camera, and ask the photopass guy/gal to take your picture with YOUR camera... They are always more than happy to do it.

Has anyone tried this? I just read about this on Allearsnet.com:

Disney's PhotoMovie, a DVD that combines your photos (PhotoPass photos and those taken with your own camera) with video scenes from the parks, as well as the characters interacting with the photos. The PhotoMovie DVD also includes a bonus slide show. Disney's PhotoMovie retails for $69.95, but is now available at the introductory price of $49.95; additional copies are just $19.95. (December 2005)

Oh boy a whole new world of questions and planning!

What about the photos that are taken at character meals like Chef Mickey? Do they use the photo pass?

and when does photo pass expire? Say if you used your card in Jan, then went back in March could you use the same card? to fill up those 300 photos and get more value out of it?

what if you loose you loose your card? is there a way to replace it with a number?

can you get 2 cards on the same account? i.e. could a group be all on the same photo pass account?

I don't think the photos like a Chef Mickey or Cinderella pics are included, but I think "regular" character meet/greets are, if there's a PhotoPass person there.

The pictures are only on the website for 30 days. After that, I'm not sure what your options are, but I would imagine if you call Disney and they can find your pictures, they'd be glad to take your money. :teeth: I don't think the cards themselves ever expire, but I don't think you can retrieve pics from more that 30 days back.

If you lose, your card, I think that PhotoPass will *try* to locate your pics based on location, age of people in pic, date etc. Your best bet is though to write down or take a picture of your PhotoPass card in case you lose it. Then you just get a new card, and you'll have pics on 2 accounts. I don't think it matters who is on a card, just all the pics will be grouped together online.

HTH :)

When I went in august, I did not realize how precious these photopasses were, Everyday we left the hotel, we forgot them and we'd end up with new ones. In total I believe I have around 6 or so photopasses, its a quick and easy process to get a new one, it doesn't even take a minute. They take a pic, grab a new card, scan it and you are done. Unfortunately, I lost like four of them and by the time I finally checked the photos, it was almost impossible to locate us, i hadn't kept track of the days, times etc. This time I am definitely going to take better care and at the very least write down the numbers.

I had 30 days with the pics, but disney extended it to more like 90 days... :goodvibes

The photopass photos are actually some of my favorite of the entire trip, I am going to search for them high and low this trip!! :teeth:

I have emailed the photopass information to find out if I can get a CD from our pictures in December. Someone please tell me that we can get a cd after we leave the parks. I am desperate to get this but cannot afford to purchase all of the photos.

Still waiting for a reply.

I have done it and it is very cute and in my opinion a good deal. You can upload your own pictures to use and even get ones from your photopass account. You can see a preview at http://disneyphotomovie.go.com/movie/. The one thing I wish I would have done is take more of a variety of pictures from each park that way I could put pics from each park in the right "chapter" I mostly had pics from MK and they look a little bit funny with the AK stuff playing in the backround but that didnt stop us. I think it will be a great memory and especially if you have kids I think they would love to watch themselevs.

I took trips in both August and October and got new photopass cards on each trip. I didn't order my August photos until well into September and when I got back from the October trip those photos were still on my account so...you can "retrieve" multiple photopass card photos on one online account BUT I don't know if you can have them put onto 1 CD at the parks.

I just kept my photopass card with my park ticket and I wasn't going to loose that. I will be writing down the number in the future though just in case.

This is all great info! I'm a photo junkie and I'll have to have all the photopass pictures of my trip, I'm sure! Did anyone find the answer to what camera the CM's use for the photos? I would be interested to know.

Still trying to see if anyone has had luck getting this after leaving. Or how long the pacutres are stored on the card I have a friend going in May can I have her take the card and get the cd?

Anyone know????

They use a Nikon D70. This is the same camera that I use so it's great that if I do ask them to take a picture of all of us they know how to use it already! We have always purchased alot of PhotoPass photos as rarely do we have all four of us in a picture usually I'm the one behind the camera.

On our last night this trip Dec 4, 2005 while in the Epcot photo center DH asked this specific question about whether they put them on CD and we were told essentially "Nope not at this time... perhaps in the future." So we are happy to hear that we can just get them all on CD for next time. When I told him though he did say... "Didn't I just ask about that?" I'll let him think it was his idea.

When I purchased my CD, I had two photopass cards that we'd been using. We were able to put both cards onto the one CD. I think we could have had several cards put on one CD. But I don't know whether a photopass card from a previous trip will be able to be added. It probably depends on how long they maintain the photos.

You cannot order the cd once home. I just received the reply but I am asking if I have a friend going in may can she get the cd for me. Or how long they keep the photopass ids.

I will let you know the answer.

OMG, that would make it so worthwhile for my group! We could each have a card if we are seperated and then put them all on one CD. I would be buying it anyway but that way if the girls are with my parents or DB instead of with me, I wouldn't miss out on the pics! :Pinkbounc besides I wouldn't have to make DH stand in the line to look at each photo and decide if we want it and what sizes, yada yada. I only ended up buying 2 photos last time b/c we ran out of time to look at them.
ok, $99 is added to the budget.
now if they would just add the Dining ones to it, I would be set.

When you get home, you can add borders and edit and you can see the special photos where they add Tink and Stitch but you cannot add stuff like Tink or Stitch to your photos yourself; only Disney can do that. You will have access to those photos though, if you had them taken at WDW. They are all the same price, for the same size.

My photos from our Sept/Oct trip are still available along with my Nov/Dec trip. They keep extending the deadline.

I actually love Photopass. I do wish they'd include the ride photos but alas they do not. They also do not include the special character photos they now take at Chef Mickey's, CRT and PSB unfortuately.

Just making sure I understand this correctly.

I can order a CD from the photopass people at WDW for $99 and can make as many prints as I want from a local photo developer. I can take an old card with me next week, and combine it with photopass cards from the current trip.

That is awesome!! I am part of a group of 21 people headed to WDW next week-- that would make the actual cost very inexpensive, especially if we get a group shot of everyone and everyone wanted a picture.

So you can reprint the pictures with Tink and Stich as long as they were put on in WDW? You can make them any size? Just can't add characters.

Right. When we went in Sept, they took a picture of us with my girls holding Tink and it was there to buy. It was the same price as all the others. But if I remember correctly, it wouldn't let me edit that one; I couldn't add a border or anything. All other photos could have a border added or a signiture etc...

Yes, I believe you can pick a bigger size if you want to; they offer only 5x7, 8x10 and wallets.
