Has anyone tried the new DIsney PhotoMovie associated with Photo Pass? I think I read somewhere on here that there is computer software you can buy and create a DVD yourself. Any insight? My photopass picts will expire on 12-14-05 and if I make a movie I'd like to include these.

Go to www.disneyphotomovie.com and then you just use the website to put in your photopass pics and any other pics you have uploaded on to your computer. It takes about 50-60 pics. It was pretty easy to make and we really liked ours.

We got ours about 20 minute's ago....I just watched it. It came out nice. As for getting software on your own, you can do that but you wouldn't have the same "cut-scene's" of the parks and resorts. This way is also a lot less time consuming. IMHO. :earsboy:

Wow, that looks great! I didn't even know this existed. You really do learn something new every day. That would be a good Christmas present for the grandparents!

O.K. That is too cool! I am taking the 2 y.o. to WDW for our first one on one trip this weekend. This may just end up the Grandmas Xmas present from them.

From the upload page:

"Organize all of the photos you want to include into a single folder on your computer. Remember, you can upload up to 120 photos to create your movie."

I just ordered mine today and did the express shipping. Does anyone have any idea if I will get this by Christmas?? The shipping info in the help section was a bit vague...

I see in the posts that it says you can upload 120 photos - is guess that includes any photos you want from photopass plust your own for the total of 120 - now the silly question - should you organize the photos in the way you want them to appear on the DVD, like put all MK photos together and each in order of how you want them to appear, Epcot photos together and so own, or does Disney pick what goes on the DVD from what you submit? As I am writing this it would seem that you should organize them. thanks.

You upload the 120 pictures first. Then there is a predetemined allotment of available pics for 5 categories. 1 for each park and one for "beyond the parks" which includes an ability to choose your resort. Then YOU CHOOSE how you want to allocate any combination of your uploaded pictures, your photopass pictures or disney "stock" pictures into each of the spaces in each category. So, it makes sense for you to choose to move the pictures of your familiy in front of the castle into the Magic Kingdom section. But it does not have to. For example, I had a picture of my kids with Rafiki taken at MGM that I put in the AK section. It just fit better.

Now, someone mentioned that at the end of the DVD they include your 120 uploaded pictures. I did not read that anywhere on the photomovie site but just in case they do, I uploaded my pictures in the order I would want them to come out on a slide show...

huskies90. I am going to try it when I get home from work. (not that I am getting much work done while on these boards (hahaha).

You can buy software at Costco (15.99) that will allow you to make a Disney movie cd. It was developed by ULead Technology.

Just a heads up... I ordered Photomovies for the grandparents' xmas gifts. Apparently, one of my photos had a problem...they emailed me and told me, and offered several options so I wouldn't have that problem on my dvd. I emailed a question, got a quick reply, and emailed again with my decision. Just thought that you all would like to know that there is some quality verification going on, and that they have good follow-up.

I just got mine 2 days ago and love it. It was our first trip to Disney, had many photopass pics that I did not buy, and I included on DVD. We did not go to MGM, yet I filled this chapter with varioud pics. The Disney music and video and graphics are great. I don't know if I would pay $70 for a 10 minute movie, but ok with spending 50.

haley's mom - When did you order it?? I am just wondering if i will get mine by Xmas. I ordered it yesterday...

Just a note about the Ulead software. I recently purchased it and am not sure that I would recommend it. It offers very little in the way of flexbility. For example you have to choose which character you want your entire movie to feature ~ Mickey, Pooh or Princesses, you can't combine them, wich isn't great for putting a whole vacations worth of pictures together but is okay for portions of a trip. I used it to make a mini movie of my daughter's Princess Tea Party at the GF. The music is very neutral, not recognizably Disney. I think I would go with their movie as opposed to this software, or look for other software if you want to make a movie.

I orderded it on Dec 8th, received on Dec 14th. Less than 1 week. Check on the website under Help and order status and it will show delivered and a UPS tracking number. Hope you get it soon!

I am trying to figure this out and I am having trouble. How do you include the photopass pictures? Is there a certain place that lets you choose the photopass pictures? Any help would be great. thanks, Chris.

You need to bring in your photopass pics first. After uploading your photos you click continue (you can click continue w/o upload pics if you want. You can always go back to add them). You then come to a screen that says "What would you like to do next? Click add Disney's Photopass ID. You then add type in your photopass id and click enter. You can add multiple ID's here. Then click Continue and when you go to build your photomovie, all the photopass pics are there...

Have Fun!!!
