Photography Board Summer Assignment, 2010: Scavenger Hunt

Here are a few over the last few weeks that I took with my phone and finally got them uploaded:

Daybreak (I'm pretty much always up and working during daybreak, but don't normally get a chance to get a shot. Got lucky with this one as I finished one of my stores right as the sun was coming up... not to bad for a cell phone):

Andy-seems like there are quite a few of us from Massachusetts-at least 5 of us.

There are definitely more than 5. We were going to do a photo trip up to Portsmouth Light in New Hampshire about a year and a half ago and we had about 12 or so that were going to go. There were a few from New Hampshire and one from Maine IIRC, but the majority were from Mass.

Andy & I went to high school together. We did a photo shoot in Woods Hole with Linda a while back. Lots of fun. We need to do something like that again. Maybe another try at the Portsmouth Light tour. They have them on Sundays this year.

Look what they are doing this year at Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse.
I just found out about it today and have to work that night. Just a couple more weeks and I'm off for 2 weeks.

I saw that on another site. There is also a boat tour out of somewhere up in that area that is doing similar tours to a bunch of different lighthouses.

The Portsmouth Lighthouse Open House is every Sunday from now till mid October 1pm till 5pm. Visitors get to climb to the lantern room to enjoy the magnificent view and to see the fourth-order Fresnel lens up close. Volunteers will tell visitors about the history of the light station, and there will be souvenirs for sale. There are 44 stairs to the watch room and a 7-rung ladder to the lantern room.

Here are a few more that I got today:

Great shots Kyle & Don. :thumbsup2
There is at least two that I have seen in town and every time I see them it is without my camera. I almost made a U-turn the other day and followed the guy home. :rotfl2:

I know!! The things we do!!! I got very strange looks from a guy on a motorcycle yesterday - he was coming out of his driveway and I was taking pictures of the hibiscus flowers in his garden (I was on the footpath). I'm sure he thought I was stalking him or something!!! :confused3

I know what you mean. Today I went with the disguise of booking a birthday party for my daughter (which we might do) at a local ride stable. At the end of asking questions about the party, I subtlety asked if they would mind if I could take some pictures. I am sure they thought I had a little P&S as I got some curious looks with my DSLR w/big lens on it.

this flower was about the size of a dime maybe a bit larger, judges is that small enough if not I will go after something smaller.

I've always been a snappy happy point and shoot gal; and have only had the dSLR since mid April. I've tried out almost all modes on the dSLR since converting and am really happy with my new camera.

This week, I finally plucked up the nerve to move the switch to Manual mode. :scared:

Headlight Trails* The view from where I snapped my first attempts.
0707HeadlighttrailsAJuly07.jpg

The view from where I snapped my second attempts. It's not the best photo in the world, but I'm rather proud of this next one. I spent 10 minutes lining this up and 20 minutes waiting for the right traffic condition. I wanted to line up the trail of a single onwards car with the trail of a single outwards car and find out what the trail would look like.

Illusion* The illusion of a Melbourne Tram!

Let me know if this doesn't meet with your definition of Illusion.

It was freezing that night...about 7 C/45 F. I'm still thawing out!

Great shots! I love the one of yourself and the ferry queue with the Opera House in the background. As much as us Melbournians will hate to say this, Sydney is just such a gorgeous city!
