Photography Board Summer Assignment, 2010: Scavenger Hunt

Eclipse Judges?? It wasn't specified what type of eclipse...thought it was worth a try with all the eclipse movie hype right now :)
DSC_0320.jpg

I was wondering the same thing with the one I posted but didnt get a response as to whether it counts or not. Mine was a sign for a salon/wellness center. The clock at the top of the sign is made to look like an eclipse but I was still skeptical whether is would be accepted. I figure if nothing else I could use it as an N for Neon sign. Here is a repost of my eclipse:

I thought about that and asked around, apparently there's no torpedo's on the ship anymore :confused3 I have a trick up my sleeve and my wife needs to study for the Nurse's Boards so I may have an outing this week with just the boys. I have no idea why, but I HAVE to get this one. It's just taunting me!

Thanks for thinking of me though

What a bummer. I was thinking of going there for a torpedo picture myself. I am searching for the picket fence gate and I don't why.

The intention behind Eclipse** is an actual Lunar eclipse, which is why it has two stars, ie very difficult to get. I should have added the word Lunar but I didn't think of it when I was putting the list together. :duck: I'll accept the signage, but they won't qualify for any stars so they'll be just one point. It has to be fair to someone who captures an actual eclipse. (Didn't we have one the other night?)

This is becoming an obsession and I've taken to carrying a camera with me almost all the time! Thanks for setting this assignment - I'm having heaps of fun; and trying to play more with the different settings.

You've summarised my thoughts!

It also has been nice seeing photos from the all over the world. So many things that we just don't see here. Still thinking about how I can take a photo of the capitol dome...

Just wondering if someone can enlighten on "old glory"? Its not a term that I'm familiar with. Thanks in advance!

Old Glory is the United States flag. There are a couple of terms I'm a little fuzzy on myself because there are a lot of differences between regions of the US.

I went out yesterday and found myself looking for things I could take pictures of, but then kicked myself because I had left my camera back at the office!

Shushh....Bring your camera to Melbourne. I've got a free day on Thursday and am going to take a shot of "capital dome".....if the judge accepts it, you're going to have to do the same thing! (It won't be as way out as my entry for "doggy bag"..I promise!)

And where's the American Embassy in Sydney? They might have the Stars and Stripes flying...

My camera will most definitely be coming with me! I'm intrigued now as to what you are planning...

The embassy is in the city, which is a bit of a pain when you're trying to take photos with 3 kids in tow! I'm hoping that lots of flags will come out come July 4!

I can't believe I missed the eclipse...makes it even worse that I tried taking photos of the moon the night before!!!! ARGHHH!!!

Joining in, here are my first few points:

This guy was hanging out in the conservation lot behind our house last night:

Zoomed in using photoshop:

Some other little bird has issue whenever he shows up and tries to get him to leave.

Demolition, our little two lane road is being widened to 6 lanes, this is the demolition of the new road taken by my son as I drove...safety, safety, safety.:)

And clouds:

And thanks for starting this Pea-n-me, gives me and DS(11) a challenge for the Summer.

I was pretty sure I couldnt use a neon sign for 3 points when I posted it ... hence the :rolleyes1 ... I originally took the pic for my neon sign entry and did go back and change the title on it to N for neon sign. I think there was supposed to be an actual eclipse the other night but I didnt know it till the next morning and I heard a blurb about it on the news.

Got some shots from my DS(9) uploaded. He was using my Nikon D90 with 18-200 lens because the battery for the Sony point & shoot needed charging. I was suprised he could hold it steady.

I think he can do better on a few of these.

Baseball in flight. This one is definately by a 9 year old boy with the help of his 10 year old neighbor. Looks like he's going to take out the front door. Just a quick note on the "clutter" on the porch. This family of 6 is renting this small house while they tear down their much bigger house and rebuild it. They haven't started tearing down the old one yet. Hope they don't tear it down while we're at Disney. We could use that for demolition.;)
