Disney (not in Disney) I have a couple to share - there were lots of puppets for sale in Venice but this one was painted just like the Disney version of Pinocchio.

Well it took several tries at different settings, the biggest thing that help was that this ride was in a shady area and that help a lot.
For this shot I used shutter priority @ 1/10 sec, ISO 100. This was hand held but I braced my self against the fence around the ride.
The key is not to shot in bright sunlight, early morning or later in the afternoon and have the sun to your back, also if you have a polarizing filter use it and that will give you 1.5 stop of light, so if you shooting at 1/80 sec and then put on a polarizing filter you then be shooting at 1/60 sec.
Also focus on a stationary object, I focus on the center and not on the swing seats.
Hope this helps.
Don

Thanks Don - this helps immensely!! Got to time it right on Monday, now!! ;)

PrincessInOz, I do so enjoy reading about your category stretches!

Me too!! I laugh out loud at them!! :lmao: Thanks for that! :flower3:
shushh - is it warm enough for swimming in Sydney at the moment??? I don't think it is warm enough up here yet (for me) but I guess it was the kids, after all!! They are impervious to cold, aren't they?!! Oh and congratulations to your daughter - well done on winning her race.

Holy Cow - that's my home town! I miss it like crazy... there's no place like home. Great pictures!

Work commitments will keep me from becoming a regular but seeing Peppermint gave me an idea of something I could practice macros on.
I'm a point and shoot girl but have a good quality one which does make good shots. But I'm not as good I would like and macros are one thing I would like to get better at.

So...here is the most addictive chocolate on the planet for me. :goodvibes
The fact there are still some unopened ones is a miracle. :lmao:
Far from perfect...but it is a start :flower3:

Today I went for a Sunday drive to Mt. Tamborine, which is in the hinterland behind the Gold Coast. It was a beautiful day up there, but it was crazy busy!!! People and cars everywhere!! I wanted to take some photos from a lookout up there - I drove past it around 10am, went to the markets, and came back about an hour later - it was full and I mean full of hang gliders!!! No parking, no view!!! Couldn't believe it! I also saw so many Harley Davidsons and Jeeps I couldn't believe it - and whenever I did my camera wasn't at the ready!! :confused3 May be just as well - I seemed to have a bad camera day - I just wasn't on any right settings at all. Oh well, here are my attempts as best I can!

Drive in marquee:
IMG_2909cropped.jpg

(This is about the only drive in left in Brisbane - I remember when I was a kid we used to go nearly every weekend!!)

Illusion:

(When I first saw this, I thought 'oh goodie - a painter/artist at work', then I looked closer and realised it was an illusion...!!!)

Then here are two that I didn't think I would ever get over here!!

Moose:
IMG_2947cropped.jpg

(I apologise for the blinding white!! As I said I wasn't having the best "photography" day and had all the wrong settings on the camera! I tried as best I could to minimise the glare!!!)

Lemonade stand:
IMG_2917.jpg

(I really never thought I'd get this one at all!! Lemonade over here is what you call 7Up or Sprite - I didn't even think we did anything like your lemonade! So you can imagine how surprised I was to see this!!!)

Shushh and Heather - great shots!
And thanks for the vote for the category stretches. I was beginning to think it was only funny to me; but I'm glad to see that it must be an Aussie thing (at the very least)!

shushh - is it warm enough for swimming in Sydney at the moment??? I don't think it is warm enough up here yet (for me) but I guess it was the kids, after all!! They are impervious to cold, aren't they?!! Oh and congratulations to your daughter - well done on winning her race.

Heather, we had 1 warmish weekend. The first one with no rain or clouds. It wasn't warm enough for me to swim! It is still cold!!!

Very jealous of your shots as well as PrincessInOz's. Still hunting for that lemonade stand, Native American Indian, cigar store Indian...
