I have a question - it looks like it was daytime when you took that photo - what shutter speed/iso etc did you use? When ever I do slow shutter during the day it blows right out. I have a chance on Monday to get a photo of a fair ride, but it will be daylight and I was wondering how to make it work..!!

Well it took several tries at different settings, the biggest thing that help was that this ride was in a shady area and that help a lot.
For this shot I used shutter priority @ 1/10 sec, ISO 100. This was hand held but I braced my self against the fence around the ride.
The key is not to shot in bright sunlight, early morning or later in the afternoon and have the sun to your back, also if you have a polarizing filter use it and that will give you 1.5 stop of light, so if you shooting at 1/80 sec and then put on a polarizing filter you then be shooting at 1/60 sec.
Also focus on a stationary object, I focus on the center and not on the swing seats.

Cigar Store (West) Indian*

These figurines were found in a Cuban Cigar store. The owner of the store told me that he imported them from Cuba....close enough to West Indies!

A Cigar Store Indian is not just extinct in Melbourne; I'm pretty sure the species never even existed here.


Nevertheless, despite the Category stretch, I'm claiming the points for this.....
