Yesterday I went to our Royal Queensland Show which is held every year for 10 days in August. It is also called The Exhibition, or, as we do here in Australia, it is shortened to The Ekka...!!! No use using extra syllables when everyone knows what you mean!!

It has been held since 1876 to promote and encourage the development
of the agricultural, pastoral, horticultural, industrial, manufacturing and cultural resources of the state of Queensland.
It's slogan is "Where the City meets the Country", and as kids we loved going every year. I guess it's like a State Fair - there are rides, junk food, farm animals, tractors, all sorts of things we city slickers rarely get to see. Judging of cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs, cats, horses take place, plus auctions of the cattle as well!
I was able to get a lot of scavenger hunt items which thrilled me no end!!

Here we go...

(This is an Australian Rugby Union jersey signed by former captain John Eales. The team is nicknamed the Wallabies, or at the moment it's the Wanna-be's - they aren't winning too many games at the moment!!!

It was framed and behind glass, hence the reflections - oops!!
