I have had a sad day today - I had to have my dear little Skye put to sleep. She has been with us for 18 years, and was most definitely the leader of my small pack!

She had been off colour for a couple of days, but was very listless on Sunday, and on Sunday night I discovered a very large and hard lump in her tummy that the vet thought could be a tumour on her mammary gland. (She showed no sign of that until Sunday.) She was in some discomfort, so we decided that the best thing for her was to end her discomfort.
As I write this through many tears that have been shed for her, I firmly believe that she is now much more comfortable, and back to her lively younger self where she can see, hear and run in the grass like she did.
I will miss her every day.
