Photo Sharing: Ultra Wide Angle

Thanks :goodvibes. I have more photos of it but there are people in front of it. I should post one just to give an idea of scale. A grown man wouldn't even come to the top of the red/orange part. It was GI-NORMOUS!!!

wow

Just for reference of size. In daylight hours there was just no way to not get people in the picture!

Nice! Who did you rent from? The fisheye is a lot of fun. I used mine quite a bit on my short visit last week too. I had used it a little last Nov but it kind of became my go to lens this trip. Being a faster lens helped since I didn't have a tripod along.

Looking forward to seeing some more! :)

I rented from lensrentals.com .. the only place that rents the A-mount Sigma 10mm fishy that I could find. I decided to do the rental last minute (with about 1 hour to spare on the shipping cutoff to get it in time for my trip) and their service was speedy.

I rented a fisheye from them also, 2x's and would do it again, if DH hadn't finally purchased it for me ;). I thought the price was quite reasonable for the amount of time that I had it for.

Here's a trick you can use in situations like that. You'll want a tripod or something to put the camera on.

Take several shots of the exact same scene. Layer them in Photoshop. Selectively erase the people in your shot revealing a different shot for that area. As long as every spot is clear in at least one shot, you can build a composite with on one in it.

LOVE this one too! I love seeing the people actually IN the ride, and you captured it perfectly as always!

Thanks for sharing!

Brilliant shot Tom, I love how the score display is shining on the people in front of you.

Thanks. This really pushed the limits of the D90's ISO capabilities, in my opinion. I had to do a lot of post processing that I would have rather not done, but I liked the shot. I really can't wait for a halfway decent 12,xxx ISO or more.

I had no idea! Thanks so much. I wish I had known then....of course I didn't have my tripod on this quick trip. It's too heavy to put in my suitcase and check and I am afraid to send it with checked baggage, independantly in its carry bag.. I'll have to try that out some time. It was so frustrating trying to get a picture without people - the place was just crawling with them!

You know...it really isn't fair that you live so close to WDW. I really wish I got to go 'play' every week/month and test out my ideas!

Oh... like they don't have birds and wing nuts where you live! :rolleyes1
