Photo Sharing: Ultra Wide Angle

...if it makes you guys feel any better, it looks like his bathroom mirror is really really dirty. Maybe he spends so much time on the photography thing that he neglects other duties? ;) :confused3

I thought all that dirt was on my sensor!

1) How on earth do you handhold a 4 second shot? :scared1:

I just hold the little wire thingy with the button on the end of it. The actual camera goes on this special three legged stand I have.

I'm assuming "behind the statue" means as the statue is oriented. He is between the statue and the castle.

Right- about half way between Walt's BACK and the curb there where the road goes in front of the castle.

Nice... OK... the "handheld" makes more sense now... Teasing us 'newbies'.

And wow... that far from partners is really impressive... Now to go buy lottery tickets to support this addiction!:wizard:

Standing maybe 20' behind the Partners Statue. No tripod- handheld. Code was right next to me- and he had a tripod- so his will probably be much better.
I am glad I don't have to compete - when you & Code were there in front of the castle, I was on Astro Orbiter taking fireworks photos from there. :lmao: Or was that the night I took 'em with the Lensbaby from outside Buzz... Heck, I took maybe 3-4 shots of the castle out of the 5k or so from this past trip.

If I can't go for better, I can at least go for different. :teeth:

Through out this post I found huge collection of really very good pics. These pics show that how good you are with your camera. I has save some pics for my collection. Thanks to all for sharing these with us.

Hey Gdad/Code/ukcatfan - just to follow up on what I said during the Summit, the Samyang fisheye I mentioned is apparently a "stereographic fisheye"... there's more info in a review here. It's actually an 8mm F3.5 lens - kind of an odd duck but apparently it makes very nice images. They are selling for $290 on eBay. Samyang is an interesting up-and-coming DSLR lens producer, they also have an 85mm F1.4 that is generally pretty well regarded, they'll have a 35mm F1.4 out later this year, and have just released a full-frame compatible 14mm F2.8 for you UWA lovers out there. They're all manual focus and free from electronics - and they're cheap! The 14mm will probably be $300-350.

A mysterious fellow DIS'r on the TTA

Last weekend I decided to use my Tamron 10-24mm F3.5-4.5 almost exclusively for my trip just for a different perspective. I had the lens on for all of Epcot and Magic Kingdom, only switching to the 18-250 for AK. One thing I hadn't really done much before was taking night shots with the UWA lens.

Last Friday was a full moon, and one of the brightest of the year, so I decided to do some tripod night shots with the UWA lens on the A550 around Epcot Center's World Showcase. The UWA perspective was fun at night, the full moon made the sky aglow, and the clouds were thick and fast-moving, which gave some crazy streaks and wild glowing skies.

I like China #1 the best -- nice foreground and nice sky enhance the overall composition.

I think the Italy one doesn't work as well, due to the layout of the pavilion. Maybe a different perspective would work better?

Fun stuff. I'm jealous that you live so close and have the opportunity to get over there so often.

Regards,

Boris

Great images Justin. That light from the full moon gives the images a very different look with the dramatic sky. Well done!!

Zackiedawg: Those are awesome shots. You took full advantage of that full moon with some of the best night shots of Epcot I've seen. I even like Italy. I think the lines in the pavement add a lot of interest.

Gdad: Every time I see a new shot has been posted by you, I can't wait to see what you've come up with next. You continue to outdo yourself. That TTA shot is amazing!

Yeah, I should clarify, I meant Italy #1, Number 3 is cool.

I'm at work, and not paying close enough attention.

Boris

Stunning as always Tom! Not many people can take an photo of a shop and turn it into a work of art!

I concur. Great shot. Was this another of those "stay in the park past closing time to get an empty street" shots?

Regards,

Boris

Was just catching up on news in the photo world after my trip and read that the Tokina 11-16/2.8 is coming to the Alpha mount. Hmm.... intriguing... tempting to switch from my Sigma maybe?
