Havoc, going to Central Park zoo tomorrow and then Bronx on Wednesday if your around

Tied up with work. Have fun at the zoo. I was there last weekend and will be back soon as my wife bought the annual family pass.

Last weekend, saw a shooter with the best Sony gear I've ever seen all together.
In the rare cases where I do bump into someone with $10,000+ gear, it's Canon or Nikon.

In this case, it was a guy with an a99 and a77, both with grips. Both on tripods. One camera had the Sony 500/f4 and the other had the Sony 70-400g.

How would you like to drag that through the park!

You should have seen the Sony shooter I bumped into last week. Never seen an amateur with $20,000+ in Sony dSLR gear... A99, a77, 500mm/f4, 70-400g.

That's some serious dough. The zoo as great and nice a quiet for the most part. I did wish I had a lens with some length, as of now, the Minolta 24-85 I got from you is the longest I have

As someone who likes primes, keep your eyes open for the Minolta 200/2.8. It's not extremely long, but it's not massive while producing truly amazing quality.

But next time I go to the zoo, I may give my Tamron 70-300 a try for range. Or may eventually get a high quality teleconverter to pair with the 200.
