Taken at AKL from balcony on the top floor.

Your first attempts are a lot better than my first attempts were! ;)

Here is one I took in May, similar but at night and concentrating more on the ceiling:

They both have a very distinctive and very different look, I like them both.

I took this at the bridge at the lobby of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was taken with a Nikon 10.5 lens. I have not corrected for the lens.

I downloaded Photomatix pro but have not purchased yet so the watermark is there.

I think the only thing you might try next time is to make sure you vary your exposures enough to get some photos with no blow outs in them... it looks like your still blown out in the windows from the outside.

I agree with you. It was a bright day and not sure anything was going to keep the windows from being blown out.

I should have taken at night but was busy!

I was wondering if a handheld 3 exposure HDR would work.

Little bit of ghosting with the people but otherwise a great shot for being hand held :thumbsup2 .

I like the ghosts. Kind of reminds me of vacations past.

especially the guy looking at me, ....creepy.

Those are very, very nice! They look so very natural, which is how I prefer HDR shots

Wow those are really great. I don't always like the HDR examples (although some of them are nice) but these two are really stunning.:thumbsup2

Very nice- I really like the second one a lot. Excellent colors.

It would probably help if I actually read the Photomatix (trial) tutorial, but I was anxious to see if anything at all came out. Where I really wanted to shoot from was inaccessible, so I had to settle for this vantage point.

Do you do additional processing in another program? (I have PSE 5). I'm not sure about all that tone mapping stuff in Photomatix.
These were each made from five differrent photos taken at a range from -2 to +2.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions on these...

My opinion is that a HDR looks best when you can't really tell that its a HDR (I'm not fond of that over-processed look). So by that standard, these are very well done. Very natural looking.

Still using the trial version of Photomatix until I can see if I can figure it out.
7 shots used.

It looks great to me! What time of day was it?

Nice lighting effects and not overdone at all. I like it! So now the problem is you may have to buy the program... ;)
