Thanks. We're so close, but hardly ever go there. We had two different groups of out-of-town visitors this Christmas, so I was actually there twice in the same week.
I'm using some of my Christmas vacation time to familiarize myself further with my 60D. (Imagine that... you can actually learn something by reading all those photography books you bought and never opened.) Actually, I'm excited because I've signed up for a PHT 101 class at the local community college. (Some of the wonderful pictures on this thread have really inspired me to want to be a better photographer!)
Here are some shots I took last night playing with Aperture Priority and the White Balance set to Tungsten. Lens was an EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, although I couldn't get the camera to shoot with aperture set any lower than 4.3. (I didn't try manually focusing, that may have done the trick.)
Any critiques or suggestions would be appreciated. (Aside from the "critique" I got at home for moving around the ornaments, candles, and poinsettias, that is. Oops.)
