I really enjoy taking pictures around WDW, and this year I wanted to try something a little different. I was thinking about trying a photo scavenger hunt of sorts. My plan was that I would put together a list of "Disney" sort of words before the trip and then write them on little slips of paper. Then, during the trip, I would pick out three slips randomly each morning and try to get a photo of each thing that day. I'm thinking nothing specific like "Space Mountain" or "Cinderella Castle" since I don't want to end up picking out those slips on a day I'm going to EPCOT :earboy2:, but things a little more vague that would still work such as "hidden mickey" or "princess". Any ideas on good words? If so, feel free to post them. Thanks. :)

Bump. :bounce:

Maybe this wasn't such a great idea. lol

ohhhhh this would be fun.

here's a few.

yellow flowers
a man with socks and sandels (always makes me giggle)
a lovely piece of artwork (these are hidden all over WDW)
cool things made out of wood (there are so many of these too....)
cool things made out of glass
my favorite food item for the day

you could get very creative with these and the scrapbooking options are endless.

You may want to use "cast member".
It would be a neat conversation starter to tell a cast member that you need their picture for a scavanger hunt. It can be any one from a ride operator to a street sweeper.

Although this isn't quite what you wanted, I thought it was a neat idea, so I wanted to share it. One family, after many trips to WDW, had photographed "the usual things" many times. So on one trip they took pictures of a variety of themed trash cans, then when they got home, they invited all their Disney friends to come and guess exactly where the different trash cans were from.

I did something like this for my nieces and nephew a few years ago. I gave them a list for MK and a disposable Polaroid camera. They had a lot of fun doing it!

Somethings I gave them and others I can think of:

Cast member with the same name as you

"Grandma" type lady wearing mouse ears (always makes me smile!)

I also did the man wearing black socks and sandals (always a hoot!)

Favorite "Hat" in a store (we always take lots of these kind of pictures!) or someone wearing a specific hat like Goofy, Sorcerer Hat, Pluto Baseball cap, Golden Ears, etc

Baby sleeping in a stroller

A pretty fountain

Hidden Mickeys are always a fun one

A specific character like Pluto, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale etc. Or get more obscure to make it more of a challenge!

A really neat sign for a gift shop (some are very cute and others are very detailed)

Someone eating a Mickey ice cream bar

A cast member from your hometown or very close (I always love looking where they are from!)

A Gecko

A bird

I will stop because I could go on and on! Can't wait to seewhat other people think of!

Those sound great. Thanks.

Anyone else have any ideas? :sunny:

One thing from the vacation planning video that I actually liked was when the guy kept pulling strangers into the picture with him. That could be one...a picture with 5 strangers. :rotfl:

You guys are good! I also take lots of photos. Last trip I tried to take photos of different things that go with letters of the alphabet for a future scrapbook. I like the scavenger hunt idea!

You could do some that were specific to a park. Just separate them out and put them in a different envelope. So if you know you are going to Epcot you could select one or two from that envelope and some from a generic envelope.

Keep the great ideas coming!

What a great idea. I remember seeing something like this in the Disney Magazine. There would be pictures of an item and you would have to figure out what ride it came from or where it was located in the park.

Last year we found Hidden Mickey's and took pictures of them. This year we kinda did the same thing. However, I like the ideas from the previous posters. It gives me ideas for next year. :)

I am thinking about printing up some pictures of hidden mickeys for my youth group when we go to Night of Joy, and have them find the ride/attraction that they are on. This way they would actually have to find them without hints, but they could figure it out by the pictures. I would actually make the pictures broad enough so they could figure out where it might be. Isn't exactly what you are talking about, but it is something that others could think about doing.

*Family with matching outfits
*Pal Mickey with different clothes
*longest line for food, ride etc
*'Animals" - Lion, - (could be at Animal Kingdom or even a photo of Simba from someone shirt); a tiger (AK or tigger), a bear (AK, Koda, Pooh etc); Duck - Donald, a duck that quacks (met a very friendly one once in AK), or even Daisy duck.
*Someone reading (could be a book, map, etc)
*Someone taking a picture of you
*your feet in different locations - look down - photos of your feet on different walkways
*Depending on what weekend you are going on - a cheerleader, football player, golfer etc (depending on if there is a special event that weekend)
*your bags at the end of the day and the beginning of the day - did you buy souveneirs that day?

I will try and think of more - have fun.

Oh this sounds like so much fun - my DD and I are going next week for a soccer tournament so this will be great fun for her to do with her new digital camera. She's a big scrapbooker so this will be great for her.

Adding to the list:

The monorail track
fence

someone eating a tukey leg

Any thoughts for items at the airport?

I think we are going to do a master list and separate it by category :earsboy:
