Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

Don't always keep up with WL happenings so may be behind here and this has been in place for a bit. If so, carry on.

Had lunch at Geyser Point the other day. New to me setup - check in has moved to the opposite side of the restaurant - meaning, the geyser side. They have new tables and chairs - no more of those low tables and larger outdoorsy type furniture that made up the furniture along the exterior. New tables and chairs are more normal sitting height. The tables were a faux wood material - looked a little cheap honestly, but no biggie. The chairs still have a small cushion, but I do miss the larger more comfy chairs from before (although I can understand why they needed to be changed, they had been showing some wear).

The walk-up counter service area is now mobile order pick up only - you can't order from anyone at the counter.

Food and drink were excellent as always.

There are also some menu changes. The new chipotle barbecue bison meatballs were very good.

Thanks for the info! Have a stay coming up there soon.

Do they still do the hotel tour I’ve read about where they talk about all of the history/special things related to the resort?

Wednesday through Saturday mornings. The tours begin at 9:00 AM and last about 1 to 1.25 hours. No advance booking is required; guests simply need to meet at the designated spot in the lobby in front of the fireplace.

Perfect! Thank you!

Here now and they're having problems with the water. Have been told the water is out for the entire resort, but we have cold water in our room, just no hot water and the shower won't turn on. Thankfully we had a chill day doing the architecture tour and the tasteful artistry so don't need to shower before dinner! Fingers crossed it comes back on soon.

Water is back on! Phew!

Yikes! That’s totally inconvenient. This happened to us one afternoon when we were at the Swan last year. It wasn’t until after the water came back (both hot and cold were out) that we got a note slipped under our door informing us of the outage! 🙄 Glad it’s working again!

Cross posting from my post in the CCV thread, just in case anyone is interested:

Just saw this picture posted on the DVC Fan FB page of what appears to be a Murphy Bed installed in a CCV room that’s being refurbed.

The Murphy bed would make the difference between us avoiding a studio and reserving one. I used the Murphy bed at BCV and it was fine. I would consider booking the CCV studio if it had the Murphy bed. :)
