Photo scanners

Anyone have suggestions for good photo scanners? I have so many photos to scan that belonged to my mother and several other family members. There are a lot of black and white photos as well as color photos of varying sizes.

I have an Epson Perfection V39 that I bought a few years ago. It is fast in scanning especially once you get the hang of it and skip the Preview step. I have found that black and white photos scan even better than color in general. I have scanned at least a thousand photos with it and it is still going strong. In addition it is very light in weight so I can carry it from room to room with my laptop computer. It is currently $99.99 on Amazon.
