Does anyone know if you can still buy just the Attractions Plus component of PP?

1) YES.
2) CM's have been attending training classes all this past week.
3) One HUGE, HUGE change.
4) Everyone in your party can now have rights to taking their PP+ pictures.
5) Not just the one person with the card.

EXAMPLE: A group of 100 people each can get a card and be on the same PP+ plan.

LOVE the functionality of more than one person using it -- that was the ONLY issue we had with PP+!! :thumbsup2

In Sept they had signs up at the ride photopass counters, I want to say it was around $50.

We had PP+ when we were there the first week of October. We have used regular photopass in the past. We rode every ride on the list except rock'n'rollercoaster, some of them twice. So to me that alone makes it worth it. We also ate at CRT, Ohana breakfast and Tusker House breakfast. Now I know you normally get the photo package at CRT but at Ohana and Tusker House not only did they scan my card so those photos will be on the cd but they brought the print package to my table and simply said "here are photos, these are included with your photopass". This was the 6x8 in the cardboard frame and 4 4x6's. We were a party of 7 so at CRT we got 2 packages (one with just the kids in it and the other including the adults). So the prints at the restaurants made it worth also.

But getting the two together made PP+ a no brainer for me.

There were a few times they scanned my magicband and those photos were automatically on my account when I logged on. It even says "11:15 meeting Pluto" or whatever so I thought that was cool.

So even though I thought the print quality lacked a little more this time and even though I had 3 different picture sets missing (they were found though) I still believe this is a good value and definitely recommend doing it.

When it's all going, when you friend your family in my Disney experience you'll be able to view their photos.

So in essence itll be easier

Ok so in theory, everyone who is linked to my account should be able to scan their band and their photos will be on my CD? Sounds great if it really works. Now ride photos will not work right? You need the PP+ card for that, so they can only add those when I am with them? Wondering how trustworthy this will be for our November trip? I really do not feel like checking photos daily to be sure it is working. Maybe I will test it our first evening and go from there.

LOVE this! I can't tell you how many times I went to hand my card to a PPP to realize DH had it. Haha.

I'm wondering how using MBs for PP will affect CD-sharing. We're going with my in-laws (who are staying off property) and several friends (on property, but of course their own reservations) and had planned on all sharing one CD. With the cards, that's totally easy. If the photos are attached to MBs, though, it doesn't seem like sharing would work nearly as well. I hope the cards stick around for a while yet.

Adding the MB's will both work for and against shares. Any MBs associated with a reservation will automatically show up across accounts. However, it act's like having the same pictures tagged to two PP cards. So everyone can see them, but edits don't carry across from account to account. So Mom buys the Archive CD with her account. The pics from her band, Dad's band, Sally's band, and Johnny's band will show up in all 4 accounts (assuming each has their own MDE/disney.com account). But if Dad makes edits, the edit's won't show up in Moms account. So in this scenario, it's not a huge deal as all 4 live in the same house, so they just need to make sure Mom does all the edits. However, if Grandma and Grandpa, or Neighbor Tom add their Magic Bands, then thats a different story. Since your Photopass account is now tied to your MDE/Disney.com account, sharing credentials is suddenly a big deal. Before, worst happens is someone changes your password, or orders the CD on accident. However now, they can change anything in any part of MDE/Disney.com. So they could theoretically change your existing reservations, make new ones, modify trip plans, etc. Tying Photopass into your MDE/Disney.com account now has much greater ramifications for account sharing that worrying about getting different bands added to your account.

I guess the big change is soon. I'll be checking! I did send an email to Disney's Photopass and inquired about memory maker and here is their reply:

Ok just talked with my travel agent. Disney told her they are mailing my PPplus voucher to her and then it's my choice wether to link it on MDE or wait til I get there to link it in the parks. CM said there are many glitches linkin it prior on MDE. Travel agent also said CM is already callin it memory maker. That's all I know as of now.

So that means you could add it to your MDE account before you go and not need too have it added when you arrive at Disney (no need to collect from a Photo Center or Photopass desk)? That could be convenient ... assuming it works! I'm going to hold off doing anything until close to our trip so I can get some feedback of the new system in action first

Yes. I agree. The system is so glitchy that waiting is probably what I will do unless I hear others' success.

Okay, now that I am totally confused :confused3, we are just going to wait until we get there in 28 days to do anything since I had PP+ added to our package months ago.

I don't really know what to suggest to you :worried: Nothing seems to have been announced yet, or at least nothing official by Disney. I cannot see Photopass+ having any lesser value in any way and absolutely expect it and all its features to work as intended when you purchased it. If they do add the new features as an option, whether simply as part of the existing PP+ or as extras for an additional cost, I can't see them not allowing guests who have pre-purchased it to pay/add it when it comes into effect. I am not even completely sure how this is all intended to work; is it a merge with the existing system or is it an optional add-on?

I was one of those last year who had pre ordered the regular Photopass and then they brought out PP+ At the time there was no way to upgrade or convert it online but a quick post on their Facebook page saw them post an email address (the regular PP one IIRC) and I emailed them with my details and they placed a credit into my account with the additional $69 that it was at the time to upgrade. All I had to do was process the payment and the PP+ CD appeared as a credit in my Photopass account. I would expect that if there is payment required, it will be a simple similar process. Here's hoping. Perhaps I should worry more, but I've really had no issues in the past. The main thing I would suggest for now is keep your eyes on the boards and sign up to their FB page if you are on FB in the meantime, and when you get there, check your photos every day in case anything needs to be sorted out there and then

2Tiggies, your suggestions - as always - are right on:thumbsup2. DH is going to bring his iPad and hopefully we will be able to see if the photos show up on that each night. If not, I may be spending some time in the PP booths each day.

I am really not too worried about pictures being missing. I read many people losing pictures before all this, but it has never happened to me. Maybe I am just wishfully thinking though. I went into MDE to see if I could figure out how to link our photopass +, but I don't see any option to do it, so I will wait until we get there.
