Photo pass at Disneyland ?

Is it really easy to pre-order the photopass CD ahead of time and do you get to play with the borders, etc when you pre-order it?? Also what happens if you get home and don't like the photos, can you cancel then?? Just curious. Thanks.:)

It's very easy to prepurchase it. They send you an email with a code that you use when you return to reduce the price to free. lol

You pay 99.95 before you go and when you put the code in it covers the shipping as well. Otherwise you pay 124.95 plus shipping when you get back.

When you preorder you are just getting a code. So when you get back you log in and upload all the photopass cards to your acct. (they can only be put into one acct so if your sharing with family be sure they don't use a separate acct or they won't be able to go on one cd) Once you have them uploaded into your acct you can crop, add borders and siggies and anything else you want. If you don't like the photos you can cancel when you get home and they will refund your money from the prepurchase.

But I would be surprised if you wanted to lol. We have bought the cd each time and just love the photos !

In December my husband and my 7 daughter went to DL just the two of them. She got lots of pictures with Santa and two in front of the big mickey when you first enter DL. I ordered a few of the photos. Cropped and edited one with Disney Xmas border stuff and placed my order online. When they arrived they sent me the wrong one, the unedited one. Both my husband and I did the order so I know I ordered the right one. But because their order form only shows what type of picture you ordered, doesn't show a small picture of what you ordered, you have no way to prove it. I emailed them and they said that I have to send them back the wrong one and they will resend it to me. But I had to pay for shipping to return it to them. Even though they screwed up. I was not very pleased with the process and will probably not do that again. I used the photopass for WDW and had no problems with what I ordered. So needless to say I was out more money because I sent it certified to make sure it got to them, so I didn't get screwed again.

Krismutt, the people you email or call when dealing with photopass are the same people, it's all mailed from FL. So that could have happened at WDW just as easily as in DLR. I'm sorry it happened.

Spectrum, I can't wait to see that picture! I had NO idea that the ghost picture was available at DLR.

And Oscar T. Grouch, I also can't wait to see the Hook one!

Both of you, you should let bradk know about those options at DLR! He has the stitchkingdom website with the photopass info, and I'm sure he would be happy to have DLR info, since his site is really focused on WDW right now.

Also to both of you, where exactly were the pix taken? I don't want to randomly ask photopass people (actually I never see pp people in NOS at all!) about those pictures, so I would love to know exactly where you were!

I have a question about photopass.....I'm going to DL next week...then I'm going to WDW 16 days later...can I prepurchase ONE photopass & use it at BOTH DL & WDW????

I would think so long as you are in the time frame when you have to have it completed - 30 days? I am in a photopass share group and everyone else is going to WDW and I am going to DL. So it must be possible!

Does the DL board have a photopass share thread? I don't see it. I'd be very interested in splitting the costs of a CD with other families. We've done this in the past at WDW ...

Quick question, about sharing a photopass..........we go the first week of March, my sister and her family are going the first week of April. Would we be able to share with them? How long can you have between your visit and getting the cd?

Your pix will be available for 30 days and THEN they are available for 30 days from that date on the Photopass site. I participated in a CD Share in Sept. at WDW and was also able to add pix from Disneyland to the same CD. :woohoo: My WDW trip was 9-6 to 9-16-07. My first trip to Dland was Aug. 31st. Then I went again on 9-24 and 9-29. I didn't enter my code for the Aug 31st trip to Dland until I returned from WDW (which was within the 30 day time limit). Then I was able to enter the other 2 trips within the next 30 day time limit. I think our CD was ordered around Sept. 30th or first of October.

I only got one special character one at Dland (silly me, I didn't think about getting any others :confused3 ) We got TINK by the castle.

but we also got one with us wearing our "ears" from Screamin'

I think it's too cute! (even though the Santa Anas where blowing that day and our hair was all over the place.)

This wasn't with anything special added in, however, it was a nice pose (taken by the castle)

In my opinion, there were quite a few PP photogs around. You can always find them at the entrance to each park, as well as scattered around in other locations.

I was on the left side of HM as you face it. I only found out about it because the photographer told us. He said it was new. I also did the one with Tink, but I did not know about the stitch one.

Thank you.:)

I know it comes from the same place and could have happened there too. But for them not to compensate for my shipping costs and oh I forgot to add I had to pay for the new shipping cost as well. Because I had to place an entire new order. So I paid for shipping 3 times and they did not care. As much as a fan I am of Disney, it kind of soured my feelings a bit. I will still go as I own a DVC timeshare but I feel I should have at least gotten free shipping on the second order. :headache:

I love the pictures but not the lack of customer service they gave me.

I didn't even know that website existed! There's some great information for our Girls' trip!!:woohoo:

I hope I have as much luck as all of you with the photographers at DL next month and in Nov. That would be great!!! Love the Mickey Ears as California Screamin, that is too cute and love the ghosts at HM and Captain Hook, hoping for good luck with the photopass in March.:)

Krismutt, I'm sorry if I sounded insensitive, just in case I did (I also might be oversensitive right now, LOL). We've been sick for 5 days now and caring for my 3 year old while being sick as a dog is starting to get to me. :flower3:

I definitely do think they should have covered the shipping on it, both ways.

Maybe it was someone newly from disneyshopping.com. I've had some awful customer "service" from them, with having to pay for shipping back of an item that was 2 sizes too big, when I went exactly by their measurements (which is a painful thing to do,with a bathing suit!). And they charged for the lower size, then refunded once they got my return. And charged the wrong card. And wouldn't apologize or do anything about it.

Then a recent order was shipped, and the tracking number sat at "billing information received" for 2 weeks. I am more patient than most, having worked for amazon and made shipping oddities my specialty. Finally wrote to ask their timeframe, and they said 10 business days. OK. One day DH got home and there was a package outside the door. From them. With a totally different tracking number, and the invoice made note of some sort of packaging trouble and stated "re-ship". This was shipped out two days BEFORE I emailed them...you'd think they could have made a note of the new tracking number. I wrote them, and along with all that I said "maybe you should pass along the idea to have the shipping department let CS know of reships and new tracking numbers" and the email I got back was so generic and inconsequential it was almost offensive.

Anyway, didn't mean to write a novel, but I've received lackadasical customer service from disney online, and I know how frustrating it is when it wasn't your fault but they Just Don't Care!

jnjusoioa, the ears picture is taken while going over the bridge towards Screamin', just in case no one had told you. I'll give you a hint, though, don't use a photographer who is significantly shorter than you, or you'll get a really chin-ny picture! Our photog was down the hill of the bridge a bit, and she was just a bit of a thing (I'm only 5'3", so for me to notice someone shorter than me is significant!), and YIKES the chins were not pretty. :)

Too funny! :rotfl2: I never thought of that-luckily we had a photog who was tall than both of us. :goodvibes

ADDED-hope you all feel better soon!

I love love love photopass!!!! I pre-ordered then split the cost with the other 2 adults in our party.

The only advice I have is for pics in front of the castle and the one on the bridge in CA, make sure the little ones are high enough / tall enough or hold them for one or two shots so you can add things like the 2008 that goes at the bottom of the picture (same with the California Adventure logo). I could not put those on my photos bc our 4 yr olds are too low in the pictures.

I did not see a photog by the HM. :(

Thank you for letting me know Molly, I would have been looking all over, now I know, thanks a million, and I hope that the photographer is taller then I am, I am only 5 foot so it shouldn't be too hard hopefully.:goodvibes

Dizneydaz - your California Screamin' pic is super cute! :cutie:

I'm glad that DL's Haunted Mansion also has a special photo and that it's different from the one at WDW (a ghost drives the hearse there). :hmghost:

We'll be using our PhotoPass at WDW then DL, too in May pre/post our DCL Repo cruise! ;)

I'm so excited to hear you were able to do this. I thought I'd have to get a separate $99 CD deal for each park for our upcoming June trips.
