Hello…we are tacking on a couple of days at Disney prior to a cruise. They offered a photo package for $185, this is for DH and me, as well our daughter’s family. At what point is this a good deal, or is this not a good deal? We’ll be there for MNSSHP, and then potentially 2 park days. There are 3 grandsons, if that matters in your suggestions!

How important are the 'complete family' pictures to you? If you take time at various areas around the parks to have Disney photographers take pictures of your entire group, then it's well worth it. If you don't tend to do that many group pictures and take more yourself, then it won't be worth it. With mostly everyone carrying around their own cameras all the time, you're likely to get lots of shots anyway. But sometimes you want photos with everyone in them, and the Disney photographers can do that for you. The Disney photographers will often have those 'magic shots' that will be edited to include Disney characters with your family in the picture. It's a lot of money, especially for a short trip like that - but we've also been lucky with some very memorable photos of all of us. Have a great trip. Sounds fun!

We were there a week with DD, DSiL, and DGD 20 months, so the $185 was spread out over more park time than you'll have. That said, I'm so glad we bought MM, because we love having the group photos as well as the magic shots, several of them taken when we had split up. Thinking about it, MM was our one and only souvenir purchase for that trip! So for us, it was well worth it.

I would wrestle with it for a trip as short as yours because of the cost and the number of opportunities to take advantage of it. Now on a longer trip (we typically go for 7-8 days) I would absolutely say that it was worth it. Then everybody is in the picture and you don't see my arm sticking way out to try and capture us all selfie-style. The magic shots with the various characters or other things being digitally added are a lot of fun and this way we also get our ride pictures, too.

One of our favorite pictures is from a photopass photographer outside the Haunted Mansion with all of us pretending to be scared, and even though it's clearly faked everyone just looks happy and you can tell that we're having a great time.

Thanks for your opinions everyone! We are definitely getting the photo pass on the cruise, and know that if there is a great photo or 2, on land, we can purchase those as a “onesie-twosie” type of thing!
