Portland is known for its Art Cars - this is the Never Never Van, supposedly based on the story of Peter Pan. I think it's kind of creepy and I don't really see the Peter Pan connection.

This weekend, this event rolled into town. It brought all sorts of shooting opportunities with it!

This week I also went to see the Wallace and Gromit World of Invention exhibition at one of the museums in town.

There were lots of things that appealed to my sense of humour there.

Here's a Chickadee from me.

Something else Portland is known for... we have these metal rings on our curbs where people used to tie their horses before they had cars. Actually, we still tie our horses to them. Note the tiny crocheted saddle.

...and sometimes our zebras!

It's fun to happen upon the horses when out walking. Here's one of my favorites from a few streets away.

Haha! Nice! Unfortunately, our oldest graveyard in town used to have these along the granite wall. They have since been removed by thieves looking for scrap metal.

This one is Macro and Upside Down. If you look in the drop, thanks to the focal length and properties of the water droplet, the images refracted through it appear upside down. But you have to look closely to really see it. (I'll work on that one.)

This set is dedicated to my Dad. He turned 80 last week and we had a big family gathering. My family are gun-shy about posting pictures on the web; so this post is all about the Noshery we had for my Dad's birthday bash....I've tried to keep it within the categories.
