This may be a little picky, but in Minnesota, we're still on daylight time. I believe Florida is also on daylight time. MS does open at 9 am, but right now it's 9 am EDT (not 9 am EST).
Most of us in the USA understand standard time and daylight time and the time of the year when it changes, but this can cause confusion. For example, AZ does not change to daylight time and CO does. Therefore, it is imperative for my company (with operations in both states) to clearly state whether the conference call starts at 8 AM MST or 8 AM MDT. Sometimes taking things literally can be a distinct advantage. It got me out of quite a few BORING calls before the boss caught on.
