PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

It was not fast and it was not pretty....but I got out there and did 2 miles this morning! One run closer to PHM...

Now what is your excuse?

It was not fast and it was not pretty....but I got out there and did 2 miles this morning! One run closer to PHM...

This morning was the first time I ran since my 7 mile race on 8/17- I've been dealing with an injury and wanted to let it rest for a little bit before jumping into my training for my half on 10/25. It was a really tough run, but I kept telling myself that every step I took was one step closer to the finish line! I just did 30 minutes of run 9 minutes/ walk 1 minute so it wasn't a long run but I got out there and did it, so I'm feeling good about it :)

Happy tuesday, everyone! :cheer2:

Nice job! Just watch that you do not reinjure yourself by pushing it too hard , too fast! I am so impressed with your 9 minute run/1 minute walk :worship: I cut back and did a 1:1 yesterday and that about killed me. I was so close to 2:1...

I did 2.15 miles yesterday. It was also not at all pretty. :) But I did it....

YAY...2.15 miles closer! :cheer2:

WEDNESDAY WONDERINGS

Still making our way through Animal Kingdom, now that we have done the MUST DO last week. What can you live without?

For me most the rest of the park I can pretty much leave (although I do enjoy just walking around and enjoying the theming). I do love the safari, but staying at AKL and hoping for a great view I don't have to ride. I would like to ride KRR but it all depends on the weather and drying time. I enjoy FOLK for the music, but I can't stand Finding Demo...yes, I am a Nemo hater! Maybe a few dinosaurs and a few bugs...but no really have to do's this trip other than EE!

Great running updates Cupcakes!!

We made my DS go on Dinosoar last year (he was 6). My DH said he hid the whole entire time and didn't even see the T-rex at the end. ha!
We probably won't be doing AK this year. My youngest is still too little for EE and both boys don't do well in shows.

Whew, I didn't realize how behind I had gotten. Right now there is a lot going on and unfortunately WDW & PHM is the last thing on my mind :sad2:

I had hoped to get back out there Monday or yesterday, but I haven't been feeling well the last few days (my body doesn't respond well to lots of stress factors...and I am putting myself under a lot of stress right now -- nothing I can talk about just yet) & with my youngest being in school for only a little over 2 hrs, it doesn't leave me much wiggle room. AND last night my knee started hurting again :confused3

Anyways, cupcakes from Friday...they both look good, but I think I would go for the WL one.

"Could do without" from AK...Tough to be a Bug, Conservation Station (obviously a must do when little ones are traveling with us, but in general...nah). OH, and Dinosaur!!! That ride is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jerky! I always brace my foot against the car & my arm also. Ugh, could totally do without that one.

I like Dinosaur, but that is the only thing I ride over there. I enjoyed Nemo, but I think it is a one and done type of thing. I actually wish I hadn't skipped Conservation Station last time though! I really enjoyed it before.

I am finalizing my plans and ADRs for October and some of them I just can't believe I might not do. Do any of you have restaurants or rides you can't imagine NOT doing on a trip to WDW. Wondering if I am getting too rigid and need to "let it go" a little...

I go often enough that as long as I can get a favorite in every couple of trips, I'm good. Trying new works out well too -

At this point I am only able to go every few years, so I like to try to get on EVERY ride if I can! If I'm going to miss some things, I'll skip the "kid" rides (except winnie the pooh, that one is a must-do every time!) In terms of restaurants, I don't really have any "must-do's" because when I was a kid going down with my parents we always just did counter service- now that I'm an adult (according to my age, at least!) I've started going to the table service restaurants to see what they're all about! The only one I know for sure we want to do in February is Boma...still trying to figure all that out :)

I watched a youtube video from this year's PHM earlier this morning during a grumpy moment...can it be february yet?? I get so excited every time I think about this race...my family thinks I'm nuts for being so psyched to wake up crazy early in the morning to run 13.1 miles! :hyper:

I keep getting behind here! I don't want to backtrack too far, but I will talk about AK. My favorite attraction is Expedition Everest. I LOVE roller coasters. I also really enjoyed Festival of the Lion King. I guess it isn't a must do though because I've only seen it once.

Things I can skip, the Boneyard. Eli never knew it was there for the longest time. I know it would give me anxiety.

My workouts are back on track so far this week. I hope I can keep it up. I have got to get my miles back up and build up my endurance. I am so tired all the time though. I made an appointment with my OBGYN for my annual exam. I go into ask her to do some bloodwork too just to make sure everything is ok.

Cupcake Friday
(as if just being Friday is not sweet enough)

S’Mores Cupcake
Roaring Fork Wilderness Lodge

So last week we took a quick boat ride across the lagoon where we were greeted by

"Old Faithful" and ushered inside the Wilderness Lodge in search of some more Disney cupcakes. This week a step back in time to with a cupcake that invokes Girl Scout Camp memories and more recent campfire summer nights at the cabin with my family, who does not love toasted gooey marshmallows and a piece of melted chocolate (and if you my daughter a layer of peanut butter) sandwiched between 2 graham crackers? May I present to you the S’Mores Cupcake (yes, we have already seen a S’Mores cupcake back at the GF that did not do much for any of us)...that will make you stand up and take notice!

This cupcake looks like a campfire memory it is topped with melted, gooey, browned marshmallow with a square of Hershey’s chocolate nestled in the sticky goodness.

Underneath I bet you were expecting a chocolate cupcake, but what you will get is a surprising cake that is graham-cracker flavored, which is slightly spicy from the spices used (almost like a spice cake). There is a surprise inside the cake…a couple more pieces of Hershey’s chocolate.

Reviews

“This dessert is amazing. I’m not a huge fan of marshmallow sauces, but this gooey marshmallow topping feels and tastes just like roasted marshmallow, and the graham cracker cake is a very interesting and unique touch. Delicious.”

My Thoughts

I am so into this cupcake and scratching off the GF version because this one looks so yummy!

Your Thoughts?

Most of Dino-Rama!

conservation station

I have never been to Conservation Station...was thinking of maybe checking it this time...maybe not!

I would be happy never to go to the petting zoo again but otherwise I like AK a lot.

I hear you with the petting zoos, but of course I was raised as a country girl and have friends these days that give me all the access I need to farm animals like goats!

Sounds like when he is older you will get another trip on it...my two oldest totally loved dinosaurs at the time so you know what we rode!

Whew, I didn't realize how behind I had gotten. Right now there is a lot going on and unfortunately WDW & PHM is the last thing on my mind :sad2:

Thinking happy thoughts for you!!!! Exciting things that are taking your mind off our trip...we are in the 6 months lull for experienced WDW goers...so not a lot of planning happening now that ADRs are done and we know the park ratings for each day...

I hate jerky...that is probably why I give up on lines at Space Mountain so fast...

Nemo was okay the first time...I just am a fan of some of the characters...

:rotfl2:Although I have a couple of ADRs that I love...I pretty much am open to anything on a trip! As for rides, you bet there are MANY I HAVE TO DO and no trip is complete. I am amazed that the more times I go that my list gets smaller and I just want to enjoy the atmosphere more and relax!

Every trip I have had a Boma ADR and for some reason never made it...no excuse this time...we have breakfast scheduled there...some day I will try dinner!

Those videos have certainly helped me get over some grumpy moments lately. I cant wait to try and make one of the cupcake adventures! Join the nuts group...people just don't understand!

Another EE girl!

momabaarjo, if you love animals, Conservation Station is worth checking out! I loved it!

ETA: Maybe I need to take a trip to WL to try that cupcake!

Talk about being behind in this PTR...ugh. I have not linked things in a long time! I need to get that done! I think you should stay Sunday night...that way you can have fun with us more! I plan to push my body till my body does not move!

I have officially decided to stay Sun night! The question is just whether my runner in crime will stay as well or I stay with my friends at BLT. I selfishly want to stay at BLT because it's free and I've always wanted to stay there, plus it's on the monorail which is convenient for our plan of dinner at O'hanas and drinking round the World that night!

We have explored the cupcakes of MK, GF, and POLY…time to ride that monorail loop over to the Contemporary Resort for another treasure trove of cupcakes to share and drool over until we can have the real thing…

Yum! Sign me up!

I got a room at WLV for my dad, step-mom and boys on Friday, and DH and I will have our room Fri-Tues. Did I mention my WL came through and we are staying all nights at VWL??!!

I signed the kids up for the Kids Races on Saturday so my parents will take them to the races and we'll meet them there after the 10k. Kids are so excited but already nervous!

We are big fans of Wilderness Lodge! That is where we're staying for our WDW Marathon trip in Jan.

I am totally going to whip out the Silhouette and make this! As a matter of fact I said when I lost 5 lbs I was getting a new workout shirt so I think I'll get some heat transfer vinyl and make this one!

It was not fast and it was not pretty....but I got out there and did 2 miles this morning! One run closer to PHM...

Now what is your excuse?

I have been on track so far this week, but I have to get my run in tomorrow or I'm off for the week. I actually ran 5 minutes straight twice yesterday. Ia m so proud of myself and impressed with how good 5 minutes straight felt!

I am finalizing my plans and ADRs for October and some of them I just can't believe I might not do. Do any of you have restaurants or rides you can't imagine NOT doing on a trip to WDW. Wondering if I am getting too rigid and need to "let it go" a little...

I love CP, Raglan Road, Tusker House breakfast but I try to do some new restaurants every trip.
