I've been reading through the past few days...made it to page 24 before getting the nerve up to post.
My name is Samantha, and I'm a stay at home mom to two boys, 8 and 10. I'm a former
Disney Store CM, an Odyssey of the Mind coach at our elementary school, a Webelos den cub scout leader (not because I want to be...I got tricked into it, lol!!), and a cupcake fan.
The 2014 PHM was on my birthday, so I decided to make PHM 2015 a day-before-my-birthday gift to myself.
Right now I have no race experience. I have 9 days to decide if I'm going to sign up for my first 5K. I know I can do it, but I'm so intimidated. I know I need to just suck it up so I can get in a couple of 10Ks to get a time to submit for PHM.
My husband and kids are very supportive, but I don't have a group of friends who are interested.
I run in the mornings after I drop my kids off at school. This morning it was pouring rain so I opted to do the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred level one. That workout used to kick my butt, but today I could hang in there. I'm proud that my endurance is getting better.
We are headed to WDW in August and upgrading to APs for our February trip. I keep telling as many people as I can about running the Princess b/c I'm trying to keep myself accountable.
I struggle to see myself as a "real" runner, so I love how positive you all are. It's motivating.
