PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

My favorite ADR is Rose and Crown at 8:00 pm. If you sit outside you have a great view or even if you sit inside you can go outside to the private viewing area that only guests at Rose & Crown can use! Of course I love fish and chips...the siltan salad is awesome...and oh the sticky toffee pudding (real thing not like at MK).

Thank you! Tried for 8:00 p.m. But could only get 7:15 for my group. Maybe if we linger long enough, we can see the show. I would def wait for a patio table if the weather is nice.

Whoohooo Tammie! You are moving so much, it's inspiring. I had to giggle, I have prayer flags in my back yard over the deck, we put them up every year or two as they shred up and fade into nothing eventually. I actually think about that every time I'm at Disney, they must change them OFTEN! I don't have a good shot of them that I can find.

I think that is so cool...I have some pretty good pictures of them. They are one of my favorite things in AK...I think I need to get a set for our deck!

Oh and I'm reading your last Trip Report for fun! :goodvibes

I read it all! I know it was a couple years ago, but so much fun to see your trip. We plan/stress similarly! ;) Can you PM me any info about Tony, your driver? I'm going to Orlando for Playlist live at the beginning of next February and we aren't staying at Disney and will need transportation! It's crazy expensive!

I think I have grown a lot since that trip...I can't believe that you read all of that! I am trying really hard NEVER to be OCD again in planning. In fact I am trying to do the reverse...LOL

Sent you Tony's information. He was such a gem!

Hello Cupcakes - sore and tired but happy to report I finished the Cherry Blossom 10 miler this morning! Wanted to finish in under 2 hrs but hit it at 2 hrs exactly :). I was in the last corral and was worried about being swept but not today!
No cupcake but had a delicious almond croissant and tea latte with my ice bath:)

Very nice job. Sweepers in a 10K...oh my I would be a nervous wreck because I am always the last at races around here...corrals for a 10K EEK!

An almond croissant sounds like a lovely way to celebrate...not so much the ice bath. I prefer hot!

Tammie, your photo and reports are stunning!!! Glad you had good times on your runs and walks. I think both are really beneficial. You are working on your walk interval when you walk. That's a good plan.

Thank you...posting makes me be accountable to someone other man myself. I saw the idea of a picture a workout on a FB running group...I thought it was a good idea...and a good way to keep my mind off of what I am doing trying to find something to take a picture of!

Amy. Congrats on the 10 miler in 2 hrs!! Ice baths are so hard. I have a love/hate affair with them.
My daughter is in the kitchen now. She decided on a chocolate silk pie with an Oreo crust. I'm trying not to be hover mom. But it's so hard as she likes to rush through stuff and not take her time:scared:

Yummy!!!

I agree with that & the cliques of some of the scrapboards! My SIL would always try to get on designer teams when they had open calls & the same people always got them. The friends of the designers.....

Never tried to be on a design team...I don't think I am that good...but I hate when you are having a live chat to be ignored!:furious:

I just buy the kits I like and scrap. I rarely share my pages and I'm sure when I do I tick someone off because I don't remember the credits- not on purpose- I just have 200 million kits.... and I don't remember........

Thank goodness I have not run into that ugliness yet...I have learned to keep a jpg of the kit in the folder to help me remember!

I acknowledge I didn't make the kit and that's as good as it gets! :rotfl:

I know seriously...look at my page do you think I created the elements...

And like you Tammie, I just have to space for traditional scrapping stuff (esp. with little kids) so I had to go digital. But I miss the traditional stuff too......

DH loves that I went digital...he hated paper scraps all over the floor and when I scrap I tend to spread out all over the place....:lmao:

Most excellent mileage Tammie! Great job!

Thank you...it was a good starting week! I am really dreading longer runs coming up in about a month. Miles 3-5 tend to really get the best of me...Now after 6 miles I lose count anyway so...but it is like a wall 3-5! I am surprised how easy 3 is right now...I have come a long way!

They will let you come back and use the private viewing area...just let your server know to give you a pass!

it was a 10 miler and they were very firm about it - they reminded people several times by email that you should switch to the 5k if you were concerned. I was concerned but I paid for the bling, I am gonna get that bling ;)
Ice bath is very necessary for me- I have an ankle injury from - Two years ago that still hurts after long runs. My family gets used to the cold water howl:)

I just got an email for shirt design for 5k this weekend...now this looks like a shirt I will wear...dress me up blue sparkle shirt will work great! And it is a tech shirt!

That is way Kewl!!! Blue bell actually makes a delicious redvelvet icecream. I love theme races and this one would be down my alley!!!

ETA: it's blue bunny Duff edition not blue bell but heck if I were there I would eat any ice cream after a race!!

My boys favorite flavor...my dh would stalk the bluebell guy each week last summer just to get it...thankfully it is a year around flavor now!

Amy - Congrats on finishing the 10 miler! Awesome!:cool1:

Tammie - you got a lot of miles in this week! I hope the doctor can help you fix your pain issues.

Woohoo!! Great job! Are you going to use that time for your proof of time submission?n
I need to find a 10 miler to submit a time for PHM. I lucked out last year with not having a submitted time, I got M corral. But I may not be that lucky next time.

I took over the whole dining room for a craft room, but now I am rethinking it. Space is at a premium in this house so I need to get rid of some stuff.

Hello ladies!!! I've been hardcore lurking on this thread...not joining since PHM currently isn't in my plans for 2015. :( I did spectate the Princess Half this year and it was so much fun, you ladies will have a blast!!

Just wanted to say that I've enjoyed following along and am loving the positive, supportive vibe here. :) Happy running!!

I've been reading through the past few days...made it to page 24 before getting the nerve up to post.

My name is Samantha, and I'm a stay at home mom to two boys, 8 and 10. I'm a former Disney Store CM, an Odyssey of the Mind coach at our elementary school, a Webelos den cub scout leader (not because I want to be...I got tricked into it, lol!!), and a cupcake fan.

The 2014 PHM was on my birthday, so I decided to make PHM 2015 a day-before-my-birthday gift to myself.

Right now I have no race experience. I have 9 days to decide if I'm going to sign up for my first 5K. I know I can do it, but I'm so intimidated. I know I need to just suck it up so I can get in a couple of 10Ks to get a time to submit for PHM.

My husband and kids are very supportive, but I don't have a group of friends who are interested.

I run in the mornings after I drop my kids off at school. This morning it was pouring rain so I opted to do the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred level one. That workout used to kick my butt, but today I could hang in there. I'm proud that my endurance is getting better.

We are headed to WDW in August and upgrading to APs for our February trip. I keep telling as many people as I can about running the Princess b/c I'm trying to keep myself accountable.

I struggle to see myself as a "real" runner, so I love how positive you all are. It's motivating.

I'm subbing in and I'll try to keep up as soon as I catch up on the whole thread!

Hi Samantha- Welcome! Glad you posted!!

Sounds like you are doing great getting started! You'll have this Princess thing in no time!

I struggle to see myself as a runner too. I see myself more like the horse motivated by the string carrot over his head. Only in this case, it's Cupcakes, Alcohol & a trip to Disney. :rotfl2:

I say, sign up for the 5K. You probably won't regret it!

I am Girl Scout Leader to both my older girls & soon to be to my youngest (next year). Def. keeps you busy, huh? It's like another full time job for me! But I love doing it...

Welcome again! Glad you joined us!

Samantha Welcome:cheer2::cheer2:

I am a SAHM with very active children and understand!!
You are a real runner if you RUN!!
Here is the thing. Upfront runners are not friendly they are determined. Front of the pack runners God bless them train hard and are serious rightfully so!
Mid pack and back of the pack runners are very supportive and cheerful. There has never been any race that I have not received encouragement or given encouragement. Please dont feel intimidated. You deserve to be there. Sign up for the 5k get race experience. The running community are very supportive. We are happy you joined us. Us busy moms need to have something for ourselves I have seen too many times we neglect ourselves for the sake of our family. My family loves me more because I can serve them more when I am healthy and active.

Anyway, pull up a chair and come on inpixiedust:pixiedust:

Music Mondays
April 7th

Name a song on your playlist that you bet no one else has....

Mine has to be...

West Texas by Doug Smith

This is a piano melody (with a banjo and fiddle) by a local artist and you can hear where I live in the melody. I love this song just because it has a great beat and it just seems to pick me up! Doug is a self taught piano player and composer. Pretty amazing if you listen to his works.

He was critically injured in a car wreck in 2007 while traveling from his studio to his home. He fell asleep at the wheel and spent several hours hanging upside down until he was discovered and rescued. The injuries left him unable to walk or use his hands. Due to extensive rehabilitation, he now has a new release called "If I Could Fly." Which is both AMAZING and beautiful!
