I am loving Chesters avatar.

So how do I take a photo from marathonfoto.com's site and use it for my avatar or signature?

No clue! I can't even figure out what happened to my GOOFY picture thingie on my signature. There's only an X there now?:confused3 Oh well, it stinks being computer illiterate.

Uh, does anyone work anymore?????:woohoo:

Work! :confused3 What's that??? LOL!

Colleen...Yes, I meant the Disneyland Half in August (I guess it is not Sept). Geeze...so early. ITA...needs to be later in September. Sorry...I abbreviate WAY too much. Oh...and Colleen...do you know that you are the one who convinced me to run the Full last year? LOL. You pm'd me and said to go for it. Thanks...I think.

The Rock & Roll series of races are awesome! SOOOO well organized....really a great time. I love them. I wouldn't hesitate to run any of them. I've only done two but plan to hit them at all at some point.

Have a great day MCMers. :sunny:

. . . I've also been eyeing PF Chang in AZ. Always wanted to try a RockNRoll Marathon, hmmmm. OMG, I hope my poor DH doesn't see this (good thing he doesn't know how to turn on a computer).

Come do San Diego in June! (You can get good deals SouthWest from Bradley to San Diego).

I did the RnR VA Beach half this year and loved, loved that race.

AZ is also on my list . . .

Colleen - Don't you have kids to pickup?

OK, San Diego in June?

I WANT that Desert Star, dang it:lmao: !

Can I do Philly in Nov. Then AZ in JAn? Hmmmm

You know what? I'm going home now, cause I'm not getting squat done here!

Holy Crap! A guy tries to get some sleep and the whole place explodes!!

Let's see if I'm up to speed: Everyone is doing Philly in '08. Sara is picking the hotel. Jodi is going to take a late flight (2:15pm) out. Chester is wearing his new WISH green loin cloth. AmyBeth (Welcome, BTW) is eating at PF Chang's. Colleen forgot to pick up her kids but found a star in her dessert. Cindy's DH is devising training plans for the injured runner and Dave is getting a job at the DTD Hilton.

Got it!:thumbsup2

Sara - Love the new avatar. It's a little small to tell for sure, but it almost looks like you are smiling. Chester's DS obviously must have done some work there as well;) .

Jodi - It wasn't very tough to convince everyone to do Philly, was it? No Minnie for me. Kathy is planning on going down with a friend of hers for a girl's weekend.

Cindy - You can keep count of your post-MCM runs until your next race.

Here is my TENTATIVE schedule for '08. Feel free to try to rearrange as needed to fit your own needs. :lmao:
Goofy in Jan
National Marathon in Mar (too close to pass up)
Cleveland Marathon in May (convenient to stay at parent's)
Army Ten Miler in Sept (Oct?)
RFTT or ToT in Oct
Philly (or Richmond if y'all are blowing smoke about Philly) in Nov

My overriding themes for picking events are 1. I'm lazy and 2. I'm cheap.

Oh, and I ran 8 miles Weds morning if anyone cares.

Mike - Of course I'm smiling:confused3 !! Happy to see you're going to do the Army 10-Miler next year:cheer2: . I am committed to that one for sure - it's on October 5th. No one's blowing smoke about Philly. We're SO there:banana: . It's great to hear Kathy will be at the Minnie in May:woohoo: . Great job on the 8 miles:cool1: .

Dave - If I decide to do the Minnie in May I would be interested in your adventure travel services. It most likely will be a solo trip for me.

Colleen - If you go solo to the Minnie we could be roomies if you want:thumbsup2 . Have an awesome time at the World and be sure to check in timely upon your return.

I did 4 or so miles of speedwork last night and a Pilates class before work today. I don't think I'm going to run tonight but maybe. If not I will do an hour of yoga for sure.

Happy training to all:cheer2:

Dave - Hang in there, buddy! MCM was a definite highlight of my fall & I'm feeling rather funky these last few days. Call it post marathon blues or whatever, but MCM was hands down, the best marathon experience, heck, best race excperience (except for riding the monorail w/ my mom to the 1/2 start in '06) ever! And it was all 'cause of you guys. And Dave, I never thought I could actually run "with" someone, but b/c of you, I know it's possible:hug: Thanks! Now I didin't say it was gonna be fun for the other person, but...:confused3
Hi Jodi :wave2: You know I wanted to say that I never run with other people either. The only time I have ever done it is at Disney in January with Steve, Colleen, and Melissa, at the Flying Pig Half in May with Steve again, and now at the MCM with you guys. All my training runs are done solo, unless I take my girls, DD9 princess: and DD6 pooh: along for a short one. I remember before Disney being nervous about running with people (and even meeting the WISH team), but once I met them and we started running the miles just flew by. It was great! It was like I was getting together with old friends. I can't imagine running a race without the WISH team.

Thanks for asking about the teaching gig at the neighboring college. No news on that yet, except to say that it's out there and my friend says I can rely on it for next Fall. The only bad thing is it's just a part-time temporary position (kind of like being a substitute teacher while my friend is on leave), and it would not be enough to cover my salary or offer benefits. So it's nice to know that it's out there, but it would not bring any long term solution to my current job trouble. I've been digging around where I am now, at the University of Rochester, and I'm trying to get involved with more teaching here and to get involved with some administrative things. I have some promising leads, but with academics, everything moves soooooo slowly. I guess the good thing is I have a year of funding to find something, but the bad thing is that it leaves me dangling for a year while I'm trying to find something.

As far as the Minnie Marathon goes, that's been a fun distraction. Check out the thread and give me your feedback about things. I'd love to get a good discussion going about the plans.

Speaking of which, I guess I better get to work.

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm going to try to be good today - I didn't get out of work until almost 9 last night because I spent so much time on this thread and thinking about marathons. I have no self control. Ran only 3 miles this morning. I was going to run further but figured I should cut it short and get into work a bit earlier.

I tried out a new wicking fleece top thinginy that I got at REI and it worked great. It was 25 degrees out and I was a little warm (which is good knowing that it will be good for colder weather) but the sweat wicking worked great! I could actually see the sweat on the outside of the top! (maybe that's sounds a little gross, but it made me really happy)

Sara and Mike - If you all are doing the ATM, maybe I'll have to do it again. I said I wasn't going to only because you don't get a medal. I know, I am ridiculous, but I really like getting medals and I feel that 10 miles is medal worthy!

Colleen - have a great trip to WDW!

Dave - I'll post over on the Minnie thread as soon as I actually get some work done this morning!

Dave - :wizard: Keep your head up, with due diligence to opportunities that surround you, I'm sure you won't face an unemployment crisis...though I know you're stressed about it. But that's why you post here & run & stuff, to keep yourself healthy & get rid of that mental fatigue! Looking forward to having you drive me around @ the Minnie:rotfl2:

Mike - Your schedule seems to be in order...the only thing I need to take issue with is your undecidedness of ToT & RFTT. Besides the fact that I'll be @ ToT, clearly it also has the better medal; so you'll be running that one. Other than that I'm good with what you've got on tap for the next year or so...Oh, & Philly's a definite!:woohoo:

Sara - If you go solo to Minnie & Colleen goes solo to Minnie, & Kathy goes solo to Minnie, & Cindy goes solo & I go solo, uh....:rolleyes1 . This could be interesting...popcorn::

Colleen - Have you seen your kids lately?:lmao: Hey, I can be mean to you 'cause you're leaving tomorrow for the happiest place on earth & I'm stuck @ home:mad: .

Chester - I see that your children have doctored Sara's avatar, as well. Imagine, her smiling while she's running...as if;) . BTW, you WILL be running the Minnie, right? What about Tracy?

Cindy - Get your sister on the boards...less of a chance she'll bail on you:lmao: . But at this point, do you really need someone to come with you? . Seems as if most of us will be, unattached, shall we say, for the weekend. How's hubby's leg??

OK, didn't manage to roll out of bed this am to run, so that means another one I have to cram in this afternoon b4 I get the boy from school. Yep, I'll have to leave work early to go run...does that seem odd? Are my priorities out of whack:yay: ? Oh well...

Hey if any of you guys listen to the DisUnplugged - listen to this week's (11/6) e-mail show (part 2). They read another of my e-mails, mentioned the Marine Corps Marathon, and talked a lot about the WISH boards.

Is it an omen that Southwest just opened up their schedule through May 9th today? I say that a villa for the Minnie is an order for sure. I am going over to Southwest.com right now to check flights out:banana: .

Mike, great summary! That is exactly how I remember yesterday's goings-on!:thumbsup2

Sounds like we are leaning towards Philly! Just tell me when to change the title of this thread.

Sara, yes we can definitely share a room for Minnie!:thumbsup2

Jodi, for some reason I am just not excited about this trip. I didn't get very good ADR's because it was so last minute and DH has to be at his conference on Sunday and Monday, so that really just leaves Saturday that we can do the family thing. I am sure once I get down there it will be great!

Dave, I do believe that all things happen for reason. It may not be clear now, but things will work out for you on the job front!

Colleen - This is just GREAT! I see you've changed the name of the thread! I'm so excited!!! AAAAHHHHHAHHHAH:banana: . I don't think it's normal to be excited about running 26.2 miles in over year from now, but there you have it!:woohoo: BTW, when you're in Disney this weekend not being excited, just think of me @ home watching Law & Order reruns on my BIG Sat. night out!:rotfl2:

Sara - Yes, I see that SW has released their fares...omen indeed!:yay: A villa, you say? Isn't there a chance that that would be dangerous?????? There'd be a lot of :dance3: & :drinking1 &:hyper2:  . Oh boy, that trip could be one for the record books!

Dave - :yay: I heard your email on the podcast today:thumbsup2 . That's too cool!!

Mike - Can Kathy come play in the villa with us?

Chester - You could pull the RV up next to the villa & Tracy could stay with us!

Cindy - There's room for you & the sis, after all, villas are BIG!
