Lou - One word for the groin pull if it's still bothering you: massage!

Yes, I have been hearing that from everyone.

I keep reading about all these LR's and I'm jealous. I haven't ran more than 8 miles in the last 2 weeks. Bad weather killed my LR on Sunday. I did 5 on the TM but that is about all I can do before getting bored.

I got in 4 miles in 35:00 today on the TM. I'm hoping I can get 16 miles in on Saturday and get back on track.

Schedule says 8 miles for Tuesday but I doubt I'll get that done due to schedules and stuff. I'm kind of at the "don't really care" stage right now so any miles will be just fine.
I couldn't have said it better myself:rotfl: . I truly think I am coming down with the FLU:scared1: so I can't see past my bed right now. Maybe some self-massage will help me out:lmao: . As for the two 20's, I think the flu is a sign from above that I need to slow down or it will be imposed against my will:confused3 .

Happy training and early tapering and let's just blow it off to all this week:cheer2:

Drive-by confession post. Did not run today (probably won't get home until close to 9, so there is no chance it will happen then) because I stayed up to watch the end of the Patriots game last night and opted for the more sleep option instead of the getting up early to run in the freezing cold wind option. At least I actually feel like I want to run tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll feel the same when my alarm goes off at 5:30 tomorrow morning.

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 No comment.

Just in case anyone cares... No packet for Kathy or me yet either. Kind of silly that it even matters, but still.
Mike - No packet for me either and it just reinforces my disdain for the whole WDW thing this time around. I know it's time to move on from this race when I am getting bitter about the lack of a packet - so sad:sad2: I hate being mean like this when I am NOT running:rotfl: My mom took the girls to NYC today on the train to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I got in 3.5 miles on the TM this morning and will hopefully do a few more miles tonight since I am sans kids.

I hope everyone is hanging in there and enjoying the spirit of the season:cheer2: .

Mike - I can't believe that you guys haven't received your packets yet, what a joke! I got mine the Sat. after Thanksgiving! Like you said, what's the point, now, but if you're paying all this jing the least they could do is send you the stupid program:confused3 ! I hope this isn't a sign of the "efficiency" of the weekend as a whole:confused: . Sheesh. About the Chi thing, you dudes can acquire Chi, it's just not inherent in you like it is w/ us women (except Sara when she's running @ MCM w/ a stess fx:mad: ...;) )

Cindy-Lou-Who:santa: - Did you get that run in this a.m. @ 5:30popcorn:: . It was COLD here this a.m. so I stayed in bed with the covers over my head:cloud9: .

Sara - You know, I've heard self-massage helps out flu-like symptoms, too!:woohoo: :rolleyes1 . How are you feeling?:guilty: I had this funky stomach thing going on all weekend as well. So much for getting a flu shot:sad2: . In fact, I wasn't going to get one, then my Dr. guilted me into it b/c Bruce has asthma & I could "bring something home" to him... . Ya know, I didn't read anything in the fine print of this marriage certificate about getting flu shots for your spouse's benefit:lmao: . BTW, tell DH I said good luck w/ his 1/2 training!!

Lou - Don't stress the LRs & don't push them, you'll end up injured, perhaps. You'll be fine for Jan.!

Colleen - HI! How's the leg feelin?

Chester - What are you running this weekend?

Dave - OK, now I'm taking this personally! Where ARE you? I hope that work thing isn't getting in the way of your posting again:lmao: .

Oh yeh, running...I went 60 mins. on the dreadmill AGAIN yesterday:scared1: . and am now thoroughly cured of my hesitation to go out in the cold in the am. Man I hate that thing. Today's a day off, I guess. In the a.m. I'll roll out of bed & try to go outside & run around for a bit. Not sure what to do Fri., Sat. is a sched. 8, but we're going into the city to see the tree & stuff, so...maybe I'll just run Sun? Nah! But I'm diggin' all the disregard for training my bretheren of the boards is feelin'!:goodvibes . I think I'll start tapering now!

Sara - I hope you are feeling better and not coming down with the flu!

We are currently having our first snow here and I did run in it this morning. It was actually my first time running in the snow and I kind of liked it. I ran 4 miles. My run wasn't great and I still didn't feel like myself (maybe lingering effects of my head cold :confused3 ) but I felt a million times better than on Sunday, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Hope everyone is making out ok in the cold (and Chester the heat)!

Oh and btw - I think my sister and I are going to register and book our plane tickets for the Minnie tonight! (she lives in State College and found a good fare - hard to come by - so she wants to book right away) Jodi, Colleen, Sara, Chester - are you all still planing on doing the Minnie?

Sara - That's so cool that your mom is taking the kids into the city today!! How long of a train ride in for you?? It takes us almost 2 hrs. on MetroNorth from New Haven which is 1/2 south from Middletown!! That's so exciting for them!!:goodvibes Isn't it nice to not have to be a "mom" for a few hours:rotfl: ? I can not believe that you haven't gotten your packet either:confused3 . I'm getting to the point where I want to just get this Goofy behind me & take a break.

CLH - Good for you for getting out there in the snow this a.m.! Now I really have to go tomorrow a.m.;) . 4 miles is perfect for an early a.m.er, I'm glad it felt better than the last run:thumbsup2 ! Keep it up!

:thumbsup2 Absolutely! In fact, last night I MADE DH write Minnie weekend into his Blackberry so his secretary doesn't book a business trip around those days!
I am also in for definite:banana: Looking forward to it!!

Sara and Mike
Tracy got her race packet the day before Thanksgiving and DS got his the Saturday after. Mine didn't come until the 3rd. I was starting to worry about mine. I guess there are still a lot out there undelivered.

Jodi
Saturday I have a planned 6.55. And on Sunday I'm running in a local Half. I think that will add up to 27 for the weekend with creative Jodi Math.

Cindy
Tracy and I area both aready registered for the Minnie. I have avoided entering it for the past 2 years because I fealt that since it it part of "Women Run the World" weekend, that I'd be out of place. But, since this is the last chance to get a Minnie medal, so I am going for it.

Well, my weekday runs are becoming rare as are mornings in the gym. I've got to re-group this weekend and get back on track. If not, I'm going to be carrying extra poundage for 42.4 miles in January.

Healthy Holiday training to all,

Chester
W.I.S.H. Half-Fast Missing Link Marathon Team

CHESTER:santa: - You just totally made my day!!!:lmao: :rotfl: I'm still wiping tears out of my eyes. Thank you so much for putting a bright spot in this otherwise doldrum of a day:hug: ! It's been a long time since I've laughed that hard!!:rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: Thanks Chester! I loved those MCM elves. I can't wait to show my girls when they get home from school - they are going to love seeing Mike dance. I agree with Jodi - that made my day - I couldn't stop laughing for the entire clip so I watched it again and laughed even harder. That was great!!!!:rotfl2:

Kathy

Chester - That MCM Elf site is awesome! Thanks for the tip. I can't wait to do one of my family.

It's a dreary day here in NJ (32 degrees and snowy). However, I managed to get in 7.3 miles in Philly, along the river, today and I feel pretty good. I had a meeting in the morning and wanted to run but I thought about bailing do to the snow. Then I saw a woman running in Center City and said I have to do it now.

It was actually pretty nice. I ran an 8:40 pace the whole way and felt great. I actually don't mind the cold. The hardest part is just getting started. I figure I am going to have to get used to runs like this if I am going to train for Disney this month.

Lou

Chester - Entirely too funny!! DD4 watched it so many times that by the time I woke up today she could do the whole dance along with the elves!

I'm thinking the mid-week running is way overrated. Come to think of it, maybe the weekend LR's are too. You may want to be sure to slip in some speed work though. You wouldn't want to get beat to any holiday buffet tables!:rotfl:

Is your half this weekend and big race? Any time goals? Heck, using Jodi math you may as well just call it a full marathon.

Lou - Great job getting out there. I've been having a tough time taking the initial plunge to run in the cold/wind/snow this week.

Sara - You know, I've heard self-massage helps out flu-like symptoms, too!:woohoo: :rolleyes1 .
I'm so confused I'm not even sure we're talking about the same thing anymore:confused3.

I was on the debate team in high school. My goal was to win 5 consecutive debates and achieve the highest award, Master. Alas, I never did become a Master-debater. I spent too much time on......
self-massage.

I got 8 miles in on the TM tonight. Not much fun, but they're done.

Weather.com says its 19 degrees here today (feels like 11). There's also a nice coating of snow on the ground. I guess it's back to the treadmill for 5 miles this morning. I'm glad I got the run in yesterday.

Holy crap, is there actually any running going on around here:rotfl: :rotfl2:  ?

Mike - Seriously my friend, I've been thinking you've had taper madness for a few weeks now:rolleyes1 . I appreciate the like-mindedness and thanks so much for keeping my mind off the running or lack thereof:thumbsup2

Chester - You're the best!! Thanks so much for making me laugh so hard. Weekday runs are overrated...best of luck with that regrouping thing:lmao: .

Lou - Thanks for putting in some respectable miles for the team:woohoo: Nice pace:banana: Are you saying you are going to train for Disney this month:confused3 ?! I thought the consensus was we didn't need no stinkin' trainingpopcorn::

Cindy - Did you book your Minnie flights?

Colleen and Dave - I think I've seen both of you posting on the weekly thread so I'll assume you're okay and I won't take it personally that you're not posting on our thread:rolleyes: .

Well, no running last night or today (shocking, I know) but an hour of yoga last night and this morning. The girls had a blast at the Rockettes show yesterday and my mom bought them a whole load of overpriced stuff that I never would have let them have so they're loving life today:cloud9: I am volunteering at a local 5K on Saturday so I don't know how many miles I am going to run. I will go for as many as it feels good for:laughing: .

Happy Holidays to All:cheer2:

Sara - Running is beat! I'm working on that napping thing to get ready for the Goofy! Glad the girls had fun!, what an opportunity!!:santa: Have fun volunteering @ that run Sat. YOU don't need to run as you are doing that vicariously through all the others;) !

Mike - I'm so confused I'm not even sure we're talking about the same thing anymore.

I was on the debate team in high school. My goal was to win 5 consecutive debates and achieve the highest award, Master. Alas, I never did become a Master-debater. I spent too much time on......
self-massage.
I KNEW that about you:lmao: :rotfl: !! WTG on the 8 on the dreadmill! It's hideous, isn't it? HI KATHY

Lou - Did you get those 5 on the dreadmill this am? It COLD here, too. AND nice job gettin' out there in the snow...nothing like guilting the rest of us into running, dude:sad2: .

CindyLW:santa: - Apparently you didn't inspire me THAT much w/ your early a.m. run yesterday...

OK, I didn't run this a.m., I'll admit it! However, I laid out all my crap for this afternoon. I plan to leave work early (who needs $ this time of year?) & get at least 4 in, can't stand the thought of 5:guilty: . Sat. is 8, I guess. Then next Sat. 20, right? I suppose I should count backwards w/ the weeks but it just seems like too much effort @ this point:confused3 . WOW, we're a motivated bunch, eh?:grouphug:
