I didnt do a search, too lazy! So can anyone tell me about having dogs at the resort? Can they stay overnight in the room with you? Do they get to stay in the room while you are gone to the parks as well? Any info will be appreciated!

Loews Loves Pets; Restrictions apply
Cleaning fee of $25 will be charged per room (once during the stay)
No more than two pets may occupy any one guestroom
A health certificate for each pet, obtained from a veterinarian within 10 days of the pet’s arrival must be presented upon check-in at the hotel
Guests arriving with pets will be placed in pet friendly rooms
Arrangements must be made with housekeeping for daily room cleaning
Dogs may be walked in designated areas only
If the dog’s behavior results in complaints by other guests, the owner may be asked to board the dog in an outside shelter
Pets are not allowed in the pool/lounge or restaurant areas
Pet friendly rooms include:
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel: Non-smoking Garden View & Bay View rooms only.

Hard Rock Hotel: Non-smoking Garden and Non-smoking Pool view only.
Loews Royal Pacific Resort: NON-smoking standard rooms only.
Club rooms do not participate in the program

this is from the website.
they do encourage you to walk your pet a couple of times during the day.
but then, most guests that bring their pets with them on vacation, spend more time with their pets than at the parks.

you can do kennel boarding if you are planning not to return to your hotel room frequently.

Guests can board their pets for the day (no overnight boarding) at the Studio Kennel. Located in the parking structure, boarding costs $10.00 per pet per day and will close 2 hours after the last park closes. There is a phone outside the kennel to contact security to assist in picking up a pet after the kennel has closed.

Guests must provide food and return periodically to walk their pet(s). Upon arrival to the parking garage, ask the toll-plaza attendant for directions to the Studio Kennel.

When I made my ressie over the phone I was informed that the "health certificate within 10 days" is no longer required. It is a recent change that hasn't been updated on the site yet. I was told that you need to be able to produce shot records "if necessary" (in case your dog bites someone, or something) so I'd still bring those with you just in case, but it does not have to be within 10 days. I was told this same info during two separate phone calls with two different reps. It just makes it easier for me to not have to get my dog to the vet in the last week before vacation...especially since we will be taking 3 days to get there (driving with a toddler and making many stops:car: ). It'll be crazy hectic in my house that final week.:hyper2:

lovepug, thanks for the update.

the op said he/she was too lazy to look the info up so all i did was copy from the hotel website about pets at the hotel.

i leave my pets at home.
i miss them but when i am on vacation, i AM on vacation.

i cook for no one at that time....

No problem. It was such a pleasant surprise (and relief) to me to find that out that I thought I'd pass it on...

THANK YOU! I was at work, so had to make it quick!

I have taken my dogs to WDW many times, and just got back from the TTC kennel, so I am relieved to know I can keep them in my room. I have no family to watch them and no reliable kennel in my town, so it is a have-to kind of thing to take my poms!

Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

We took Scruffy with us to the Portofino October '06. I think he received more special attention and perks than we did! Definitely a positive experience.

in the past, loews would give a doggie treat bag to the guests with pets that checked in.

hope they still do that.

i know i saw it as an option for pets on the loews first site.

During our '06 stay we received the bag at check in with food bowl, canned food cover, place mat, dog treats, really nice. I had to go down and change our keys out as we had added a night a the beginning of our stay, when I "checked back in" they gave him another bag! He pranced all the way back to the room like he knew he was special!
