PETA After Ben & Jerry's

PETA wants Ben & Jerry's to use human milk instead of cow's milk in their ice cream:

They're worried about the suffering of dairy cows? What about all those nursing moms?

That is so....strange. I wish that someone who supports PETA would explain this one. I don't get it.

It's simple really. PETA works these campaigns from the "shock and awe" angle. They don't mean to actually use human milk to make ice cream...they say these things to stir up controversy so that the normally "blind to it all" public takes a moment to consider the treatment of dairy cattle. Obviously, as seen here...from a PR standpoint, it works.

I can see that except I think that they take it too far. I think that many people dislike them so much that they turn a deaf ear to good messages too and might even rebelliously do just the opposite of what PETA wants. It's overkill IMO.

I do except for my waistline. I initially thought that I should run out and buy ten containers of B&J's and that would show them!

I just wonder if their message won't get lost in the bizarre way they have of presenting it. We'll see.

So Ben and Jerry has cows all over their packaging to reflect that it comes from cows...would they change the packaging to reflect that it now comes from breasts? Could they sell that in the store? Wouldn't it be rated R or at the very least PG packaging. And what about the new names?

I nursed both my kids but I didn't make ice cream with any leftover milk, no thanks!! LOL
