Pet friendly rooms

Ok, lots of questions in this thread.
Going To Portofino next week, been before. Have garden view , two queens booked. All that was available. LF / PH member. Live about 45 minutes away. All 3 hotels completely sold out (last weekend of Halloween Horror). I am plannning on going on over ahead in the morning to check in to try and secure an upgrade if possible. My questions are this;
1. Do you think there is any chance of upgrades regardless of what time I get there if they are sold out?
2. Do you think that If we decide to bring our gog (have never done that) it would hurt our chances for an upgrade.
3. Where are the pet rooms located?
Also if we can only get a gv, where to request? we have 3 younger kids and usually prefer to be on ground floor near the main pool so they can come an go more freely.

The dog has hurt our chances of an upgrade a couple of times.

We had a ground floor - Villa pool view this summer. There was a dog next door to us so I know these are pet rooms.

We stayed at Portofino Bay last year and our pet room was in the building that faces the marina. We had water view and could look out our window and see a boat coming. Great location, but with HHN going on our Shih Tzu was not happy with all the noise in the hallways at night. I think he quarreled every night we were there. The staff was great though, he got more goodies than we did! Oh yeah, we were 2nd floor I think, straight out the door and around the corner, down some steps and at the villa pool.
