Perhaps it's a generational difference?

My boyfriend is quite hairy.

He refuses to shave, though, because he always had to in the Marine Corps. He's actually got hair that sticks out of the top of his shirt (which he also had to shave in the Marine Corps.)
He gets a little upset when I ask him to shave down, telling me I sound like his drill sgt!

Yanking out my body hair because it's not currently "in"? Sounds like the epitome of conformity, no thanks!

I don't like especially overly hairy men, but I think I could deal with that better than the mentality of a man who shaves his body hair. I'm old, so any man I would be interested in would have to be at least 40 something, and I just can't imagine a man that age or older shaving or waxing his body hair.

My DS23 wears eyeliner sometimes and that also creeps me out, but his girlfriend doesn't mind at all. At this point, I'm just thankful he stopped using the black nailpolish.

One of my 21 yr. old male co-workers was just talking last week about going to get his arms waxed and while he was there, he was going to get a 'brazillian' too. :scared1: After he left, us ladies sat around, trying to figure out who, how, what happens to his 'little friend' while that waxing was going on. :confused3 :rotfl: When he came in on Friday, he said the woman that does that procedure was booked solid so he couldn't have it done but his arms were nice and smooth. Sorry, but I like my man a little more masculine (and no offense to those that don't like hairy men).:)

I can't imagine all the stubble from all-over shaving. Ugh. Imagine trying to snuggle with an all-over-stubbly man!

But if a man takes care of himself, then there is no stubble. That's what people aren't getting. They shave as soon as the hair grows back in. Just like with their face.

I really don't think that's why most people remove hair from their bodies. I'm a lady and I choose to shave my legs not because it's "in" or because I'm conforming (maybe that was the case with women at one point in time) but because it makes me feel good and confident. The same is true for my DH. He has what's called a Becker's neivus on his back. It's a very large mole that gets hairy. He chooses to remove the hair from it. I don't think he does it to be "hip". I think that it really does bother him and if he can simply get rid of the hair, he feels a lot better. So, what's the difference? As far as I'm concerned, it's no different than me shaving my legs.

My guess is that he wouldn't let it grow back in. Instead, he'd keep himself well groomed.

My DH (Mr. Smith) is a little metro and we are twenty-somethings. I don't see anything wrong with it. If women spend all this time grooming, why can't men? I think whatever makes a person feel attractive and confident is great.

It's a generational difference, I'm sure, because many of the football players on my old high school's team did it, and many of my male friends do it. *shrugs*

What a wonderful thread this is!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

A man shaving his body daily = taking care of himself? I'll alert the surgeon general.

Different strokes and all! Personally I don't think that a guy waxing makes him any less masculine. Actually I think that most of the guys that wax tend to be body conscious and well toned. (I've never seen an overweight guy that waxed) And for me personally, a guy having less or no hair makes them a lot more fun to get close to.

My brother is a totally into the "manscaping." He shaves his arms, legs, head, you name it. He also gets regular manicures and pedicures. He's better taken care of than I am!

He's also a MP in the US ARMY on his second tour in Iraq. He's a "manly man" who just likes to pamper himself.

It was funny when he came back from Iraq the first time and his daughters were making fun at him because he just had a manicure during a layover in Germany and had clear polish on.

Trust me, growing up I never envisioned he'd be so into getting pedi's and mani's, but if it makes him happy, no business of mine.

I just wonder what the other guys in his unit think?

Funniest thing, my DH was pounced on in the mall one time.

Some lady with a little stand in the center grabbed his hand and started telling him all the wonderful qualities of this miraculous manicure set. She started filing a nail, and put this polish on it.

If you could just imagine my DH as a burly man standing there, his eyes popping out of his head while this woman held his hand and wouldn't let go...

Gary Condit did it. Remember him the Shaundra Levy guy. He was WELL out of his 20s.
I know of many men, not all from personal experience that shave their nether regions. And they are not all 20 somethings either.

Perhaps then, we can assume...that if you're a 40-something male who is trying to attract a 20-something female, you can tanscape and manscape everything and you're well on your way to getting the love you deserve.

Money also helps.

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

This is one of the funniest threads I have read in a long time.

It will definitely make the "Funniest threads of all time" list, or "Threads that you'll never forget" list.

Just for the record....

The only thing I place I plan on removing hair is my back. And even there I just hope for a trim not making it as smooth as a baby's behind. :rotfl2:

You guys have me questioning my man credentials just because I wanted to get rid of some "unsightly" back hair. :lmao:
