Perhaps it's a generational difference?

It's not just the 20 somethings. My son says it's all the trend at his high school too. In fact he's starting to look "odd" with his hairy legs! :rotfl:

You guys have me questioning my man credentials just because I wanted to get rid of some "unsightly" back hair. :lmao:

We're not here to question man credentials. We're here to make fun of men's ability to grow hair in all the wrong places.

I once had a friend who called me and asked me to come over to his apartment. He had to show me something. I get there and he is in jeans (and a t shirt). He has me sit down on the sofa while he goes into the bedroom, comes out in shorts, moves a stool over to the sofa, climbs on top of it, and asks, "what do you think?" Possibly one of the most bizarre moments in my life.

I guess he could tell by the clueless look on my face that I had no idea what I was supposed to be critiquing. He then tells me, "I shaved my legs!" Apparently he was going to get into biking and thought that would help his speed. That didn't last very long (and neither did the smooth legs).

See, I don't understand this....I hate shaving myself, why would someone voluntarily enter the world of shaving and waxing and maintaining when they have an excuse not to. :confused3

That's exactly what I wonder too. Once you go there, you have to keep going there. Why would someone do this??????

They just want to be as beautiful as we are. You can hardly blame them. :goodvibes:

One of my 21 yr. old male co-workers was just talking last week about going to get his arms waxed and while he was there, he was going to get a 'brazillian' too. :scared1: After he left, us ladies sat around, trying to figure out who, how, what happens to his 'little friend' while that waxing was going on. :confused3 :rotfl: When he came in on Friday, he said the woman that does that procedure was booked solid so he couldn't have it done but his arms were nice and smooth. Sorry, but I like my man a little more masculine (and no offense to those that don't like hairy men).:)

Too bad we can't find out now what happened with his little friend. You have to ask for an update though if he gets it done! :rotfl:

Btw, I'm amazed men can handle brazilian waxes... usually, they can't handle too much "pain" like that

Nope, this is one of the "better" threads.
I have learned a lot!

We don't NEED to know them, but you've got to admit it makes a great reading...

My DH doesn't shave his legs or arms, but each year when the warm weather starts, I help him get rid of his back hair. He was always very self conscious about it. He uses Nair for Men. It takes just a few minutes and his back usually stays clear for 2-3 weeks. He looks great and he feels better about himself, too. I think he looks great, too!

I've been sitting here for a little while contemplating ordering a mangroomer for my husband, but I just can't see him using it regularly. Maybe I'll just fill the bottle of bodywash in our shower with Nair instead.

A man shaving his body daily = taking care of himself? I'll alert the surgeon general.

Daily?! My DH certainly isn't that hairy and I don't know too many men that would have to shave their bodies every day. Body hair just doesn't grow back that quickly. Weekly or bi-weekly at most.

THEY MAKE NAIR FOR MEN????? I'm am lacing up my sneakers and RUNNING to the store! :rotfl2:

Seriously, when I go to the beach and a man looks like he is wearing a mohair sweater, that is just TOO hairy. :scared1:

Dh will kill me for this, but, he is pretty hairy and I think it looks gross at the pool/beach. You know the thing you use to shave your neck (men), the electric shaver thingy? It comes with a guide you slide on to trim your hair, like a buzz cut? It is adjustable - I put it on the first notch and use it to trim his chest and back hair. This way there is way less hair, but it's not shaved off and stubbly/itchy.

Remember, I never told you this :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Perhaps your husband's body hair doesn't grow back that quickly, but that's certainly not true for all men. My husband would need to shave every day.

There are many, many women who would disagree on this point. There have been many DIS polls in the past which indicate many women have to shave daily. Why would it be different for men?

Heehee.....my brothers and dad (and I assume my dad's brothers, too) could shave twice each day (and do sometimes)! Little bro started shaving early, too...and had to shave every day, while my DH was only about every third day at 7 yrs older! (bro did do chest for awile...) They aren't lumberjack types, and are all neatly groomed....but the stubble would be awful!
