I was just curious if anyone who received one of those 40% off codes (or 30% off) was able to switch resorts after March 31st, and still have their code apply?

Also, if you did, what number do you call to do this?

Thanks :)

I've been wondering the same thing. Although I'm not really trying to change resorts I would like to add two additional nights to our package but they said I would have to pay rack rate ...which I won't do. I've tried calling several times but no luck.

Well, I tried and I was told that there were no changes available with the discount. We are booked at POFQ and we really have sat and thought about it and really wish to move to CBR. We were told no way. We have a 40% discount and we wish to move so bad that we may even just forgo the discount and pay rack rate. I hate to do it, but we really want CBR. We booked POFQ to maybe try something new, but we are homesick for CBR.

I actually tried calling a little earlier tonight after I posted this and......they let me add on the two additional nights at the beginning of our trip for the same price. :yay: So there is hope, just keep calling back.

When I booked the reservation I was told to try back as the summer progressed to see if my preferred dates opened up. I confirmed that I had a discount that was to be used by 3/31 and the CM said that as long as I activated the code by the 31st that I would be able to switch the dates and resort. I sure hope that he is right!

This would be terrific if he's right! We made reservations at AKL with our 40% off code (2 rooms), and I hate to give them up, but I'm tellin' you, this economy is eating away our finances! :sad1: And airfares, well, don't get me started! :scared: I think we're going to have to downgrade resorts if we want to make this trip happen for our little boys. It'll be their first trip to WDW. I figured they'll have just as much fun if we stay at POP.

Are we supposed to call the same reservations number we received with our code?:confused3 I guess I'll assume the answer is yes.

We have the 40% discount and moved our August trip up a week due to the kids school changing start dates. We were booked at the CR with a MK view, and that was not available for our new dates, so we were offered the Poly with a lagoon view or the GF with a MK view. We chose the Poly, paid the difference in our one night deposit and I got my confirmation e-mail that same evening with our updated info. I just called the regular reservation number. The Cm told me I could keep calling to check on any availability on the CR since that was what we ultimately wanted. I ran the numbers while on the phone with him and my total did add up correctly with the 40% off. I would say to keep trying if you don't have what you want.

Well poo, I just called to try to switch us to a moderate or value resort for our dates, and there's no rooms available with our code for those dates.

I don't know if I should be sad because we really do need to trim our vacation expenses down (or come across more money;) ), or if I should be happy because we're still booked at AKL.:goodvibes

We're booked at Pop for Dec. 11-15 on a 40% code, but really want to switch to DxL -- or at least a preferred room at Pop. I have been calling every single morning for a month, and nothing. :( I know we have plenty of time between now and December, but it's really stressing me out. I'm not feeling good about the odds of someone canceling who just happens to be on the same discount as we are.

Well, we might just cancel our 2 rooms at AKL and book 2 rooms at POP with a AAA discount instead (20% off) to save some money.

Since our dates fall in the same time-frame as yours, I'll let you know if we cancel so you can call right away.:thumbsup2

Too bad we couldn't conference call with reservations and just switch ressies (except we'd need 2 rooms at POP with the 40% off code.:goodvibes

That would be awesome, if you were booked at DxL. :) AKL isn't really a good choice for us, because of my father's guide dog. Not like wild animals are roaming the lobby or anything, but we don't do AK either. Luckily, I really don't like that park, so it's not a big loss for me. :thumbsup2

We priced out WL with our 40% code, but we'd have to not eat -- at all -- to afford it. I know my waistline would do just fine with such an adventure, but I'm guessing it won't work.

I'd say the odds are very good of something opening up. I know I have booked can canceled a few times with our PIN. I'm trying to add 3 nights at Pop with it. If we can't I'll just take a AAA rate.

Oh my gosh, I'm such a doof!:lmao:

When I read that you wanted to switch to "DxL", I thought you meant a "Deluxe" resort. But now I see you meant "Dixie Landings" Sorry about the mix up! :rolleyes1

My fault -- I just refuse to call it that "PO" place. :thumbsup2 Here's wishing us both good luck in switching to what we want!

Okay folks, after trying several times to switch our resort with our 40% off code and always getting the same "Sorry, there's no rooms available", I got a tip from Knox about how to do it. I gave it a shot today, and it WORKED!!!!

Here's the tip.....the change must be done through Guest Services. However, the reservation CM won't check with Guest Services to make the change unless you kindly suggest to do it that way.;)

So, after I called the same number I called to make reservations using the code, this is how the conversation went with the reservations CM:

Me: Hi there. We booked 2 rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge using a 40% off code, but we'd like to switch over to Coronado Springs, and I believe we have to go through Guest Services in order to do that.

CM: Okay, let me get your reservation up on my screen. Can you confirm your address and phone number for me? Okay, thanks. So I have 2 rooms booked at AKL, checking in on December 9th and out on December 16th. And you'd like to switch to Coronado Springs Resort?

Me: Yes please, but I believe we need to go through Guest Services in order to switch.

CM: Okay, let me put you on hold.

(I hold for like 10 minutes)

CM: I'm sorry about the hold. Okay, the gentleman at Guest Services has either waterview or standard? Which would you like?

Me: Standard would be great.

CM: Okay, I'm going to put you on hold again.

(I hold for like another 15 minutes)

CM: I'm so sorry for keeping you on hold for so long. Okay, we have you all set for 2 standard view rooms at Coronado Springs resort........

Me: Thank you so much.

It was that easy!:cool1: Yes, it was a loooooooooooooong phone call, but so worth it.:thumbsup2

So, if anyone is wanting to switch resorts using your 40% off code, give it a shot.:)

AWESOME!!! Glad to hear it all worked out for you in the end. I know you were stressing about it for a bit. What would we ever do without our ever helpful mods?
