Peculiar Op-Ed About WDW

He's not writing a trip report with everything included. He's writing an essay. And he's not writing for the Dis.

And if I write a trip report for our recent trip, right now I still can't find any actual moments of happiness from it in my memories. DH and DS say they had fun but they sure weren't acting like it at all!

It's possible to have a trip without enjoying it. Trust me. (Even when you had every expectation of enjoyment)

I know he's not writing a trip report. I don't recall saying he was?? I also know it's possible to go on a trip and not enjoy it. His whole article could have been written by watching YouTube videos and reading the Dis. As a credited journalist comparing the Disney company to Nazis is poor writing and calling Disney's Animal Kingdom wild kingdom is a factual error.

He wasn't comparing the Disney company to Nazis. He was saying he doesn't like Nazis. Statement of his opinion, no comparison to anything.

That's not how I read it . He said they offer two mAybe three of these things in abundance and 3 was Nazi. I took he was comparing that to magicbands? He listed 3 things he disliked and said Disney offers 2 maybe three in abundance? What is he not comparing to Nazis then? I am lost please explain.

You read it differently than I did.

I'm not offended I just think it's a poor choice of words. If anyone has heard first account from a holocaust survivor what a Nazi really was and did and listens to their story sitting next to them. Knowing you've been there friend and they kept it from you for years and years because they hadn't fully understood or delt with it themselves it is a word not chosen lightly. Especially in a satirical article. For laughs.

It was an ill-chosen analogy, but he was just expressing his dislike for crowds and lines. Maybe he should have used "root canals" instead.

There you go. If it wasnt for that hot button word to me. Yes I admit it is. I would have thought nothing of the article. I am not 100% PC either but I am also not writing internet articles to be read on mass either.

Actually it's a fact that he is a widely read journalist and political commentator who doesn't need to write a post about Disney to get attention, not my opinion.

I was referring to the article as a attempt for some attention.....and in this case poorly done....AKK

This guy needs a new moniker:

Can I assume you didn't like the "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld?

Do I take this to mean he won't be back to Disney anytime soon!? Good riddance.

Never saw it. I don't watch much television tough. I know it's a pop culture reference. Never cared enough to seek it out. I'm sorry if a certain word that is a hot button word for me bothers you to make light of it. It's my issue not yours. The word Nazi paints in my mind horrific images of a true life event my friend was forced to live through. And not a light subject. I will now bow out of this discussion as it has nothing to do with theme parks.

I thought it was pretty funny. Honestly he didn't write much that I haven't thought myself at some time or other. And I loved the ending. He did not enjoy the experience, but clearly he enjoyed the fact that his kids did. I rather think he's underscoring, albeit in a sarcastic and exaggerated manner, the lengths we're willing to go to for our kids. (Or other folks we love.)
