OK the £ is in freefall, doom/gloom/despair. A month or so ago I thought it would be a good idea to prepay our annual dues as the exchange rate was good, around 1.95 to the £. What a relief as I watch the current goings on. Did anyone else think about doing this. We are going back in May next year & managed to prebuy some dollars a few weeks back but only got rate of 1.79.Anyone got a feel for what the rates will be like in May next year.

Not sure if you can prepay dues (doubtful as DVC is likely not set up for that); but you might open a US bank account that would permit you to convert currency whenever you feel it advantageous to do so.

I have alway prepaid. We are currently $3,000 prepaid approximately three years in advance. I had $2,000 on my now defunct Amex travel card so just paid that about a year ago and about two months ago I paid another $1,000 using my credit card.

I will just leave it now and not have to worry about paying the bills for a while.

I'v never done it myself, but I've heard otherrs have had problems with "partially" pre-paying (As in paying half in advance).

Member Accounting have a tendancy to send out a bill for the full amount anyway.

It's not as big a deal as it sounds though as by all accounts, a phone call to Member Accounting puts things to rights.

I do admit though that I''ve never done this myself and this is third hand info. I'm more of a pay monthly and borrow points sort of gal. :D
