The current BJ's deal on $150 physical GC is a better deal (5.5% vs 5%) if you have a membership. But it's not worth purchasing a membership for such a small difference. The discounted Sam's Disney GC will save you about 9.75% with your Discover cashback.

There are better deals throughout the year if you're patient and don't need the GCs soon. My personal goal is a minimum of 10% off but I usually do much better. Just watch this thread and be ready to buy when a good deal develops.

I don’t have BJs anymore since it’s the furthest away. Not sure signing up for $15-$20 is worth it for the extra .5%. Right now we just need one day tickets, one day of dining plan plus spending money.

You can get a 1 day online pass for free at BJs. I did that and ordered 7 of the $150 gift cards no problem.

No, the 5% for your birthday is a coupon and coupons do not work on gift cards.

Only the Circle spend bonuses and everyday 5% savings from using a Circle card works on DGCs at Target.

Re Sams it will be 4 (sometimes 2) per membership... but after a period of time your membership will be reset to allow you to purchase additional. But (so far as I have experienced ) there is no predictability or consistency to the timing on that process. Someone on this board noted that they had had success NOT buying the max quantity at one time and then being permitted to continue buying one at a time surpassing the limit. I haven't tried this myself, so YMMV. Discover card will transact 5% on DGCs at Sams through June. Every year I consider whether I should even keep mine, and every year I do just for that one single purpose

Same thoughts on Discover Card - use it for 5% categories exclusively. No annual fee and I’ve had it for many years, so why not keep it?

I have always been able to purchase the sale price on DGC in BJ's, it automatically rings up with addl sale price,
I can also use my accumulated BJ's rewards for addl discount
