Paying my tips automatically or in cash?

I want to know if I pay my gratuities automatically, that those four positions will actually get thier designated amount? Or do I need to just tip in cash? I have seen numerous reports of automatic tips not going to the appropriate employees but to the company to distribute. But I want to think that Disney wouldn’t do such.

Well, technically it is the company distributing the tips. Since they get charged to your shipboard account it's then up to the company to pay it to the individuals.

DCL does make sure it goes to the correct ppl and the crew often prefers onboard credit because it is easier to send home vs cash. Feel free to stop by guest services if you want to increase your amount given (they will print you updated slips). We normally do a mix of increasing the automatic amounts via onboard and throwing in a bit in cash so they have both

You will get a printout with all of the people who are assigned to you with the amount that they are getting. It is perforated and you tear off the sections and put them in envelopes provided and personally give them to each person. You can even add a little more in cash in each of the envelopes if you want.

My gut feeling was that Disney does right by this. I'm glad to read this.
