Paying in full for room then finding a discount code?

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone can help me with this.

Because of the good exchange rate for us (UK) of the $ to the £, I was going to pay in full for our room at a value resort now, rather than just pay a deposit then the balance later on, so we get the good exchange rate and know what we are paying for it.

Anyway, my question is, if I pay for it in full now, and then find a discount code I can use later on, if I call up and apply the code to my booking, how do they refund the difference if I have already paid in full? Do they put the difference back on my credit card?

you're totally correct. Pay in full now, find a discount later? They'll credit you the difference on your cc. I've done the same because of the grate exchange rate and payed my part of the trip of almost a year in advance because of it.

What I like to do.....
And this situation has happened many times.....
Pay in full, get a discount.... but instead of refunding the $$, I keep it on the room. You will then check in with a "credit" to your room.
And that way, I can use my card key to make any food or souvenir purchases. And then not worry about any charges to my CC at the end of our trip.
It's an awesome feeling to get the express check out bill and have a credit going to my CC.
