Anyone familiar with Pay Pal I have a question for you. I have to issue someone a refund because the item I sold them on Ebay turned out to be
too large to ship. When I received the payment from them, PayPal took their fee out of it. When I issue the refund, will I get the fee back from PayPal? :confused3 I am refunding the buyers price plus what they paid toward shipping.
Thanks!

Thanks!

You will get the money back from paypal. I just issued someone a $3 refund the other day, and I think pay pal refunded me a couple pennies, to reflect the fee charged on the $3. (I only charge people actual post office shipping costs. Shipping was calculated on location and weight, but since they lived so far from me, a flat rate box was a better price. Had they lived in the next state over, flat rate would have been more expensive).

I don't know about your ebay fees though, I think that is on you. Since I only ever refund a partial shipping fee of a few dollars, I have never really looked into it.

Yes, you will get a refund of all fees once you issue a refund. Make sure you file with eBay also so you get your final value fees back as well.

Yes as long as you follow the "refund" link in the payment page. If you just send money to the buyer you won't.

You get the everything back but the fixed .30 per transaction fee.

ellone is correct - paypal no longer give you back the 30 cent fee only the percentage that they took - this policy changed this year - you used to get it all back

Yeah, I've SUCH a great experience with Paypal---

I've never had a problem getting refunds back from them.

They really take care of you :)
